A Liberian-flagged container ship sustained damage to its wheelhouse after being hit by artillery fire and grenades fired from a grenade launcher in northeastern Oman.
The UKMTO stated that the captain reported the ship being approached by a warship with three members of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps before being attacked. The entire crew is safe, and there was no fire or environmental incident.
The captain stated that there was no radio contact before the incident, even though the ship had been informed beforehand that it could pass through the strait. However, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported that the ship ignored warnings issued by the Iranian armed forces.

The UKMTO subsequently reported that a second Panamanian-flagged container ship was fired upon while approximately eight nautical miles west of the Iranian coast. The ship sustained no damage and all crew members were safe.
A third container ship, also flying the Liberian flag, was attacked in the same area while leaving the Strait of Hormuz. The ship was not damaged but was forced to stop at sea. All crew members were safe.
The incident occurred amidst Iran's imposition of restrictions on shipping through this route. This move, initially in response to US and Israeli airstrikes, later escalated in reaction to the US blockade of Iranian ports.
