Implementing the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Bac Kan sets a target of reducing the poverty rate to 19.65% by the end of 2024, the number of poor households to more than 16,000 households by the end of 2024 (a reduction of nearly 2,000 households); completing works serving production and people's lives in poor districts according to the investment plan; implementing at least 10 poverty reduction projects linked to the value chain; 80% of people with working capacity who are poor households or living in poor districts are supported to improve their capacity in agricultural, forestry and fishery production.
Bac Kan province also aims to have 100% of workers from poor households, near-poor households, and households that have just escaped poverty in need of career counseling, orientation, labor market information, and job search support; 100% of people from poor households and near-poor households receive support to participate in health insurance; reduce the rate of stunting and malnutrition in children under 16 years old in poor districts to below 34%; more than 90% of children from poor households and near-poor households go to school at the right age.
From central and local budget sources, in 2024, Bac Kan will support investment in 23 projects, including 15 traffic projects, 4 school projects, 2 irrigation projects, 1 bridge project, 1 medical project, and maintenance of 28 projects in two poor districts of Ngan Son and Pac Nam;
Implemented nearly 100 models and projects to diversify livelihoods and develop poverty reduction models; supported about 280 poor and near-poor households in poor districts to build new or repair houses.
