Filled with joy
Running through the valley, the small road leading to Goc Gao village, Yen Dinh commune, Bac Ninh province, was still slippery in the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year) due to the previous night's rain. Nestled along the roadside, the small house hidden in an apple orchard belonging to Mrs. Lam Thi Tam seemed more bustling and lively with the arrival of a delegation from the province and commune to visit and offer New Year greetings. Born in 1947 and suffering from a congenital disability, Mrs. Tam, a poor single mother, has lived for many years in her house built with charitable donations, supported by her relatives and neighbors.

Upholding the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source" and showing mutual support, the Party Committee and government of Bac Ninh province have actively implemented various measures to care for war veterans, the poor, and families receiving preferential treatment during Tet (Lunar New Year). Particular attention has been paid to war veterans, poor and near-poor households, social welfare beneficiaries, children with special circumstances, the elderly, ethnic minority households, and laborers facing difficulties.
During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse (Bính Ngọ), Bắc Ninh province established 24 delegations led by provincial leaders to visit and present gifts directly to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, veteran revolutionary cadres, meritorious individuals, the elderly, and impoverished households. Simultaneously, localities also intensified efforts to care for meritorious individuals and vulnerable groups. With gifts from the central government, the province, and the support of the community and philanthropists, Bắc Ninh seriously and concretely implemented Directive No. 55-CT/TW of the Party Central Committee, ensuring that every household and every citizen could enjoy the Spring Festival and celebrate the New Year – affirmed Comrade Lê Xuân Lợi.
