Bac Ninh: Prosecution and temporary detention of two tax officials

Expanding the investigation into the case of "Asset embezzlement" that occurred at Company H. located in Hop Thinh commune, Bac Ninh province, the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Ninh Provincial Police has initiated additional prosecution, prosecuted the accused and issued an order to temporarily detain Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa and Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong - officers of Bac Ninh Tax Department for the crime of "Receiving bribes".

Previously, on August 23, 2024, the Inspection Team of the Bac Giang Provincial Tax Department (now the Bac Ninh Provincial Tax Department) led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong inspected the compliance with tax laws at Company H. The activities of the inspection team were supervised by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Head of Inspection and Examination Department No. 3. During the performance of the task, the inspection team discovered a number of violations related to the tax declaration activities of this enterprise.

Taking advantage of her position and authority, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa asked the representative of Company H. to pay 15 billion VND so that the inspection team would ignore major violations. After many direct discussions, Ms. Hoa agreed to reduce the fine to 4.3 billion VND.

On September 28 and 30, 2024, the representative of Company H. transferred a total of 4.3 billion VND to Ms. Hoa and Ms. Phuong. At the Investigation Police Agency, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa confessed to all her actions, admitting to receiving the above amount twice, in which she directly received 2 billion VND, and Ms. Phuong received 2.3 billion VND and then transferred it back to Ms. Hoa.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency of Bac Ninh Provincial Police continues to investigate and expand the case.
