As a long-time resident, he couldn't help but be moved by the transformation of what was once a low-lying plain into a large urban area.
Not only Mr. Hung, but every citizen of the city is clearly feeling the vitality of the new urban area. Located along the Cam River, just a few minutes' drive from the city center, the North Cam River Urban Area stretches out with modern buildings. From the square, the administrative and political center, the commercial and residential area to the system of parks and green spaces, everything creates a harmonious, modern overall environment with the stature of an international city.
Architect Vo Quoc Thai, former Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong (formerly) Union of Literature and Arts Associations, likened the North Cam River Urban Area to the new "heart" of the port city. Among its prominent features is the Political and Administrative Center building, resembling a ship sailing out to sea, symbolizing the port city's aspiration for integration and development.
Furthermore, the Convention and Performance Center, shaped like a spreading water droplet, symbolizes Hai Phong's role as a driving force in the region. These two structures are not only architectural highlights but also contribute to shaping a new, integrated, and modern urban landscape. Around the city center, numerous housing, commercial, and service projects are springing up. Large-scale high-rise complexes and urban areas such as Hoang Huy New City, Bach Dang 1288, Hai Phong Central Point, and Dragon 75 Complex are gradually taking shape. About a year ago, at the plaque unveiling ceremony for the Political-Administrative Center and the Conference-Performance Center of the city in the North Song Cam urban area, Comrade Le Anh Quan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, emphasized that these projects are contributing to building an urban government with a streamlined, effective, and efficient apparatus, aiming to build Hai Phong into a highly developed city among the leading cities in Asia and the world by 2045, as set out in Resolution No. 45 of the Politburo on building and developing Hai Phong city until 2030, with a vision to 2045.
After one year of operation, the outstanding strengths of the North Song Cam Urban Area are increasingly being affirmed. The transportation system here is synchronized, connecting with major arterial roads, the Hoang Van Thu Bridge, Route 359, Mang Nuoc, and an internal road network spanning tens of kilometers. This convenient connectivity allows city residents to easily travel to the city center, seaports, international airports, and major industrial zones such as VSIP Hai Phong. At the same time, the modern bus system and transportation infrastructure contribute to improving the quality of life and regional connectivity.
Moreover, surrounding the North Cam River Urban Area, entertainment areas, shopping centers, ecological parks, the Vu Yen Island urban area, etc., are gradually being completed and put into operation, providing a comprehensive, modern, and livable environment.
These very attractions are drawing numerous domestic and foreign investors to the North Song Cam urban area in general, and Hai Phong in particular.
