On the afternoon of December 7, Hoan Kiem Lake walking street became bustling with the Vietnamese costume parade "Bach Hoa Hy Su" attracting nearly 800 participants, taking viewers on a journey of happy celebrations through many periods, from the Nguyen Dynasty royal court to memories of weddings in the 90s.

Journey of 3 stops, 3 slices of Vietnamese wedding
The Vietnamese costume festival "Bach Hoa Hy Su" is one of the special cultural highlights of the Vietnam Happiness Day 2025, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

The parade route is designed like a trip back in time, with 3 stops each with its own unique character, telling the story of Vietnamese celebrations through each generation.
At Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, the space recreating the Nguyen Dynasty's wedding ceremony opens with traditional costumes and a solemn procession. The royal lines, the ceremonial dress and the slow steps make the audience feel like they are stepping into the happy day of a royal family.

Area 47 Hang Dau opens up familiar scenes of Vietnamese weddings in the 90s. From costumes to props, every detail evokes memories of Vietnamese couples in that period, simple, rustic but full of joy.
Arriving at 18 Ngo Quyen, the procession recreated the solemn moment of the wedding ceremony and the dowry exchange ceremony. This ceremony space highlighted the beauty of traditional culture through every detail including the dowry, costumes, gestures and traditional rituals.
Stretching along the parade route around Hoan Kiem Lake, the procession passed through Hang Dau, Trang Tien, Hang Khay streets and then returned to the main stage. On both sides of the street, the sound of drums and the fluttering colors of ceremonial robes blended with the rhythm of life in the old town.

The moment of intersection between tradition and modernity
One of the images that attracted viewers was the appearance of Miss H'Hen Nie and her husband. In traditional ao dai, Miss H'Hen Nie blended into the parade as a natural part of the ancient ceremony, simple yet full of charm.
Mai Thao Linh – nicknamed Lo Lem – daughter of MC Quyen Linh also became a highlight when appearing in Vietnamese costume. The pure image of Lo Lem in the midst of the procession evokes a fresh feeling, like a bridge between today's generation and traditional values.

The festival was accompanied by the Bach Hoa Bo Hanh community, a group that practices Vietnamese costumes familiar in cultural events. The presence of nearly 800 Bach Hoa Bo Hanh members in many types of costumes such as five-panel, Nhat Binh, Giao Linh, Trieu Tu, and Thuong Tu created a colorful visual picture.
Each step of the procession is carefully choreographed to tell a cultural story. The sacred moments of ancient weddings, the changes over time, and how today’s young generation receives, preserves and renews traditional values.

On December 6, within the framework of the Vietnam Happiness Day 2025, the mass wedding of 80 couples with the theme "Couple Day - Love is happiness" became a special highlight, attracting the attention of many people and tourists.
As a companion throughout the event, Vietnam Airlines gave away 160 domestic tickets to 80 couples with outstanding love stories who won prizes in the Happy Vietnam contest.

In order to continue the success of Vietnam Happiness Day 2025, Vietnam Airlines and the Organizing Committee will coordinate to carry out "Happiness Flight 2026" in January 2026 for 15 couples with the most beautiful love stories.
The flight is expected to become a highlight demonstrating Vietnam Airlines' outstanding social responsibility in 2026, contributing to spreading the message of a happy Vietnam, while affirming the airline's role in community activities with profound humanitarian meaning.
