New staff of Vietnam team before the match with Laos

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that the Vietnamese team has just elected a new executive committee before the away match against Laos in the second leg of the 2027 Asian Cup Final Qualifiers.

The Vietnam team is training in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ) to prepare for the match against Laos in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

In a recent team meeting, central defender Do Duy Manh continued to be trusted as captain of the Vietnamese team during the FIFA Days gathering in November 2025.

Along with Duy Manh, the team's executive committee includes vice-captain Nguyen Quang Hai and Nguyen Hoang Duc, experienced players who will support the captain in directing and maintaining team discipline.

Captain Do Duy Manh said: "Although each player has a different role, we all aim for the common goal of building a united team, overcoming difficulties and responding to the trust and love of the fans."

Previously, during the FIFA Days in October, French-Vietnamese defender Cao Pendant Quang Vinh and Hoang Duc held the position of vice-captain.

Quang Vinh was chosen as vice-captain at that time because Quang Hai was absent due to injury, and at the same time, coach Kim Sang-sik wanted to give Quang Vinh a chance after his outstanding efforts on the field.

According to plan, the Vietnamese team will have a final training session at Viet Tri Stadium this afternoon, November 14, before leaving for the capital Vientiane (Laos) to enter the sprint training phase.

The match between Laos and Vietnam will take place at 7:00 p.m. on November 19.

Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team are currently ranked second in Group F with 9 points, 3 points behind the leading team Malaysia. Therefore, the team's goal is to win all 3 points against Laos to maintain the race with Malaysia.
