According to the Customs Department, Vietnam's coffee exports in June 2025 reached 117,983 tons, with a turnover of nearly 677.9 million USD, a sharp increase of 52.1% in volume and 92.1% in turnover over the same period last year, marking the third consecutive month of growth for this item.

Coffee exports in the second quarter increased by 40.6% in volume and 95.8% in value over the same period, reaching 451,322 tons and a value of 2.6 billion USD.

In the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam exported 947,102 tons of coffee with a turnover of 5.4 billion USD, up 4.5% in volume and 66.2% in turnover compared to the same period in 2024. This is a record high export turnover of the coffee industry in the first 6 months of the year, nearly surpassing the 5.6 billion USD mark of the whole year of 2024.

* Domestic pepper prices today fluctuated little, decreased slightly and remained stable depending on the locality. Currently, the average pepper purchase price in key areas is 138,600 VND/kg.

Specifically, today's pepper price in Gia Lai province decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently the pepper purchasing price in this locality is at 137,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, pepper price in Ho Chi Minh City decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday's trading session, currently pepper price is purchased at 138,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price today in Dong Nai has the same downward trend, down 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently pepper purchase price is at 138,000 VND/kg.

Pepper prices in Dak Lak continued to move sideways, unchanged from the previous trading session. Currently, pepper in this locality is purchased by traders at 140,000 VND/kg.

Pepper price in Lam Dong today remains stable compared to yesterday, currently at 140,000 VND/kg.

According to experts, pepper prices are currently fluctuating in a narrow range because major importers such as the US and EU are temporarily postponing purchases due to the lack of final results on the 50% reciprocal tax rate on Brazilian pepper. This wait has slowed down international transactions and pushed global inventories to low levels.

With global pepper output forecast to continue to decline in 2025, Vietnam is facing a great opportunity to consolidate its export position. Its advantages in quality, reputation and ability to produce clean pepper will be the foundation for the industry to develop.

* Rice prices in the Mekong Delta remain stable today. Meanwhile, Vietnamese rice still maintains a good price in the export market despite global oversupply and sharp declines in Indian rice prices.

Market survey on July 19 showed that rice prices in the Mekong Delta continued to move sideways, without much fluctuation compared to the previous session.

For raw rice products, OM 380 rice ranges from 7,700 - 7,800 VND/kg; CL 555 rice ranges from 8,200 - 8,300 VND/kg.

According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of fresh rice also remained the same as yesterday. Fresh rice OM 18, Dai Thom 8, Nang Hoa 9 fluctuated from 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg; OM 5451 was priced at 5,800 - 6,000 VND/kg; OM 380 was priced at 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg; IR 50404 was priced at 5,600 - 5,800 VND/kg.

For by-products, IR 504 aromatic rice paper ranges from 7,000 - 7,300 VND/kg.

The lack of significant price fluctuations shows that the market is "holding its breath" to monitor fluctuations in world rice prices and the amount of new rice crop about to be released to the market.

Vietnamese rice exports have maintained their performance amid global fluctuations. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the price of 5% broken rice from Vietnam is being offered at $380-$390 per ton, up from $382 per ton last week. Demand from the Philippines and Africa remains stable, keeping Vietnamese rice prices competitive.
