Concluding the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation won a total of 87 gold medals, with Olympic sports playing a decisive role in the quality and regional standing of the team. Athletics continued to be the "leading force" with 12 gold medals, maintaining its performance from the previous Games and creating a stable foundation for the overall medal standings. Wrestling made a strong impression by winning 10 out of 12 gold medals, demonstrating almost absolute dominance and one of the highest gold medal rates among the participating teams.

Shooting contributed 8 gold medals, not only exceeding the target but also possessing great professional value, approaching continental and Olympic standards.

In swimming, the 7 gold medals, along with a large number of silver and bronze medals, clearly reflect the depth of the team and the positive generational transition. Other Olympic sports such as karate, taekwondo, rowing, and fencing also maintained stable contributions, creating a rare level of balanced achievements.

Overall, the 33rd SEA Games showed that Vietnamese sports are no longer dependent on regionally specific disciplines. The fact that Olympic sports accounted for a large proportion of the gold medals is a positive sign, opening up a solid foundation for aiming towards the ASIAD and Olympic arenas in the next phase.
