Military salary scale effective July 1st.

Officers of the Vietnam People's Army are cadres working in the military field, and are awarded military ranks by the State, ranging from lieutenant colonel to general.

From July 1st, the basic salary for officials, civil servants, public employees, and members of the armed forces will increase to 2.53 million VND/month - equivalent to an 8% increase compared to the current basic salary (2.34 million VND).

The salary of a military officer is calculated by multiplying the salary coefficient by the base salary.

Specifically, with a salary coefficient of 10.4 for the rank of General, the corresponding salary would be 26.312 million VND per month. Compared to the salary before July 1st, which was 24.336 million VND, the General's salary increased by 1.976 million VND.

In addition to their salaries based on a coefficient system, military officers also receive other allowances, such as seniority allowances and position allowances.

The military salary scale from July 1st, when the base salary is increased to 2.53 million VND/month, is as follows:
