(NLDO) - Clean food stores in Ho Chi Minh City accept orders for Tet banh chung at prices ranging from 250,000 - 300,000 VND/piece (from 1 - 1.3 kg) but are quite popular.

On February 5, the 26th of Tet, a representative of the Dat To Agricultural and Commercial Cooperative ( Phu Tho province, Dat To banh chung brand) in Ho Chi Minh City said they were making all efforts to wrap the cakes in time to finish selling on the 27th of Tet.

Every day, the Ho Chi Minh City market consumes about 1,000 Banh Chung Dat To, 20% higher than last year because consumers prefer Banh Chung with traditional flavors, branded products and units actively participate in fairs and advertisements to receive pre-orders.

"The market demand for cakes is still high, but we still have Tet holiday as planned because all staff have been working overtime for more than 10 days," said a representative of this cooperative.

Banh Chung Dat To has 4 main products, including: 1 kg of salty banh chung for 140,000 VND, 1.3 kg of salty banh chung for 190,000 VND, 1 kg of salty banh tet for 150,000 VND and 700 gram of vegetarian banh chung with red bean filling for 120,000 VND. In addition, the cooperative also has beautifully designed cake boxes for buyers to give as gifts.

Clean food stores also accept orders for Tet Chung cakes at prices ranging from 250,000 to 300,000 VND/piece (1 to 1.3 kg) and have a stable number of regular customers. Most of these stores will deliver the last batch of cakes on December 28 so that customers can make offerings to Tet and employees can have time off for Tet.

At the Nhu Lan brand cake shops (District 1), many consumers also came to buy Tet Chung cakes at the price of 100,000 VND/700 gram cake; 280,000 VND/2 kg cake; 130,000 VND/1.1 kg vegetarian Chung cake... - equivalent to last year's Tet.

Banh chung without label is not bought by many people.

Meanwhile, banh chung without a brand or label at traditional markets and spontaneous sales points is priced 20,000 - 30,000 VND/piece lower but there are few customers. Some vendors said that customers usually buy these items very close to Tet. In addition, this year, many organizations wrapped banh chung for charity and gave them away before Tet, so many families had banh chung without having to buy them.
