EDITORIAL: The more famous an artist is and the more fans he has, the greater the pressure. It is the pressure to protect the achievements of his career, the reputation he has built over many years. Some have to sacrifice their freedom and comfortable life like ordinary people to create a wall to protect their personal brand. VietNamNet has developed a series of articles related to the top stars of Vietnamese showbiz today such as: My Tam, Tung Duong, Ha Anh Tuan, Den Vau, Ho Ngoc Ha, Vo Ha Tram, Toc Tien, Quoc Thien, Chi Pu, Son Tung M-TP, Soobin and HIEUTHUHAI.

In the volatile flow of V-pop, where the market is easily led by fast trends and short-term trends, there are still artists who choose to build their vocal brand with perseverance, discipline and long-term artistic thinking. Tung Duong, Vo Ha Tram and Quoc Thien are 3 of them. Not noisy, not chasing after fleeting tastes, they build their journey with their own vocal ability and unique musical identity.

Tung Duong - a voice that goes across the borders of music

For more than two decades, Tung Duong has always been associated with the image of an artist who goes against the wind. He does not sing to please the majority but sings to open new horizons for himself and for the audience. Tung Duong is one of the very few Vietnamese singers who has created a musical brand that is thoughtful, has a consistent aesthetic system and a journey of constant change.

When appearing at Sao Mai rendezvous 2004 , Tung Duong immediately created a stir. His powerful voice and strong personality made him a "one-of-a-kind" phenomenon of V-pop at that time.

Audiences remember him not only for his deep, resonant voice, strong mid-range, but also for his free-spirited artistry - a singer who sings as if he is releasing an irrepressible flow of energy. This is what first formed the brand of a very "weird" Tung Duong on stage.

But Tung Duong did not stop at what created his initial success. He shifted from singing instinctively to making thoughtful art. The projects Li ti, Doc dao, Nhung o mau buoc cuc triang show that his musical style has expanded to world music, electronic, contemporary folk, and even techno.

Tung Duong's voice at this time no longer overshadows the whole but blends into the multi-dimensional sound structure. He is restrained, Tung Duong's voice brand is now clearly positioned: an artist who constantly learns, always seeks to innovate. His voice brand is affirmed by 3 factors: diversity, uniqueness and constant movement.

In recent years, Tung Duong has entered a period of calm, depth and contemplation. In him, music - image - emotion operate in sync. Looking back on the past journey, we can see that Tung Duong is an artist of continuous searching, who has reached musical boundaries that many people have not thought of.

Vo Ha Tram - rare technical voice, emotion and perseverance

While the V-Pop market favors soft, thin, flexible voices in Pop - R&B, Vo Ha Tram pursues a different path: vocal standards, genuine emotions and persistent discipline. This is what has created her strong vocal brand for over 15 years.

Winning the first prize of the 2007 Television Singing Star , Vo Ha Tram was soon recognized thanks to her bright, resonant soprano voice and standard vocal technique, helping her always appear as a professional singer - a trustworthy brand on stage.

Vo Ha Tram's vocal brand is defined by standard technique - emotion - delicate processing, rounded pronunciation, clear emphasis, and restrained vibrato.

Vo Ha Tram does not release music products in large quantities, nor does she follow trends. Instead, she chooses to build her career on reputation and quality. Many big stages and TV shows that require live singing choose Vo Ha Tram because of her confidence - something that only with proper vocal technique can bring about effectiveness.

Not too noisy, not using tricks, Vo Ha Tram creates value with her own seriousness. Her voice is always placed in three axes: technique - emotion - culture, creating a sustainable and respectable brand.

Quoc Thien - delicate, elegant voice

Among the young singers coming out of television competitions, Quoc Thien is a special case: he did not explode strongly after winning Vietnam Idol 2008 but has steadily progressed through discipline and meticulousness in each product.

Quoc Thien's vocal brand is built on sophistication, composure, technique and the natural expansion of genres. His clean vocal mindset, without overusing techniques, helps him build a solid foundation for a long-term career.

Quoc Thien has a bright and soft baritone voice, very suitable for ballads and love songs. He does not sing to show off, does not prolong notes for effect, but handles them neatly, carefully with each breath.

Not noisy, not strong in the way of dominating the stage, Quoc Thien chooses a calm, restrained style. He performs with connection, with subtle eyes and emotions. That is what creates Quoc Thien's brand: a voice that leads emotions.

Tung Duong has a spirit of exploration and constant innovation. Vo Ha Tram maintains technical standards and rare perseverance. Quoc Thien chooses sophistication and elegance to build his identity. All three singers affirm that the voice is an asset and the artist's brand is built through long-term labor. In a volatile music industry, their vocal brands are proof that true value is always guaranteed by time.

The prerequisites are voice and endurance.

Musician and music producer Duong Cam shared with VietNamNet that the first and most important factor that determines a singer's success is his voice. He said: "You may not be successful now, but that doesn't mean you won't be successful at another stage. First of all, you must have a good voice, like Tung Duong is a typical example."

According to Duong Cam, many artists have good voices but to make an impression, it takes a long time and perseverance. He mentioned Ha Tran, Quoc Thien, Vo Ha Tram, Dong Hung, Duong Hoang Yen… as singers who had to go on a long journey to reach the recognition they have today.

"There are many people who sing well, but when they are not yet famous, they immediately lose their determination, change direction from one direction to another, following trends. That makes it very difficult to succeed. Success does not come overnight. An overnight hit is just a matter of luck and not everyone can have it."

He gave the example of Hoa Minzy, who took many years to become famous with impressive products. The same goes for Quoc Thien, who has only made significant progress in his career in the past 3 years.

Besides singing and perseverance, according to Duong Cam, artists who want to have a long-term career need to build a professional team and become more professional themselves.

In the absence of many opportunities to stand on the big stage, artists need to proactively find other platforms to reach the audience. He gave the model of indie artists: "They sing in small spaces, build a community of 5-10 people, then 50-100 people, then thousands of people. They organize their own concerts. It is a journey of persistent accumulation."

"No matter what path they take, artists must have a clear direction, perseverance and a burning passion for their profession to be able to go the distance," musician Duong Cam concluded.
