On the evening of June 9, the Office of the National Assembly, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association and other units jointly organized the first National Press Awards ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Councils (Dien Hong Awards).

After more than 4 months of launching, Dien Hong Award received 3,328 press works from 171 domestic and international press agencies, 7 Offices of National Assembly Delegations and People's Councils.
The jury selected 67 outstanding works to award prizes, including 5 A prizes, 13 B prizes, 16 C prizes, 31 Encouragement prizes, and 2 extra-structure prizes.
The works are invested in carefully, scientifically, and have quality, expressing both content and form; some of them are multi-part series, using modern propaganda forms.
The content of the works vividly reflects the theme of the Dien Hong Award, many works closely follow the process of improving and innovating the organization and operation of the National Assembly and People's Councils, closely follow the breath of life, reflect the thoughts and aspirations of voters and people. In addition, they also propose ideas to improve the quality and efficiency of the activities of elected bodies; highlight the position and role of the National Assembly and People's Councils...
Speaking at the award ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue shared that one of the great sources of encouragement, contributing to enhancing the position, strength and prestige of the National Assembly and People's Councils over the past many years is the comprehensive, persistent and creative contribution of the press.
"In its role as an important bridge, closely connecting elected bodies with the people and voters nationwide, the country's press is increasingly demonstrating its worthiness as a collective propagandist, collective cheerleader, collective organizer, and at the same time a channel of intellectual and responsible criticism towards the country," the National Assembly Chairman commented.
The press has truthfully and vividly reflected the legitimate thoughts and aspirations of all sectors, all classes, voters, people nationwide and our compatriots abroad to the National Assembly and People's Council forums. The press is also an important and reliable channel for voters to supervise elected bodies and elected representatives.
The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that press agencies, generations of reporters and editors accompany and devote themselves to the activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils not only with responsibility but also with affection, enthusiasm and passion for creativity.
The National Assembly Chairman assessed that the Dien Hong Award has attracted widespread attention from all walks of life; positive responses from domestic and international press agencies, associations, inter-associations of journalists, journalists and collaborators.
"The entries were carefully invested, rich in topics, sophisticated in content, massive in scale, diverse in style and modern in journalism. Among them, many journalistic works with exploration, breakthrough, novelty, creativity and appeal were well received and highly appreciated by readers," said the National Assembly Chairman.
The works entered and awarded are the crystallization of the enthusiasm, sense of responsibility, love for the profession, faith, and sincere feelings of the writers and photographers towards the representative agencies of the People.

The National Assembly Chairman believes that the country's revolutionary press will continuously develop and continue to make increasingly important and greater contributions to the building of the National Assembly and People's Councils.

Also at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man launched the second Dien Hong Award.
