In his opening speech, Vice President of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Hoang Quang Phong shared: The 13th National Congress of the Party set out the aspiration to develop a prosperous and happy country with specific goals: by 2025, surpass the low-middle income level; by 2030, become a developing country with modern industry and high average income; by 2045, become a developed country with high income. To achieve this great goal, our country needs to build a strong economy, imbued with the cultural and ethical values of the nation. Resolution 41-NQ-TW dated October 10, 2023 of the Politburo on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs in the new period stated the content "Promoting the role of press agencies in informing, propagating and encouraging Vietnamese entrepreneurs". This affirms the Party's viewpoint on the role of the press in developing the team of entrepreneurs, businesses and developing the country's economy.
Overview of the Forum
“The press is a companion of businesses, a forum, a bridge between businesses and the Government and the people. The press and media are like a lever to bring the business brand to the public, and are a factor that promotes a healthy and honest competitive environment…” – Mr. Phong emphasized.
Within the framework of the forum, delegates discussed brand/product communication and brand management in units/enterprises in the current digital age. Along with that is the role of coordination between press and media agencies and units/enterprises in handling communication crises; exchanging experiences, improving the effectiveness of press information and crisis handling for units/enterprises. In addition, the forum also mentioned experiences from a number of countries in the world in communication work to increase suggestions for domestic units and enterprises today.
At the Forum, one of the issues of concern was “crisis handling”. Discussing the impact of journalism on communication and business development, Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Hien, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of DKNEC Company, gave some methods to build an effective journalism strategy for businesses, with the implementation of specific steps: Identify communication goals and what you want to achieve. Understand the audience, grasp the information and needs of the target audience. Create quality content by developing attractive and valuable messages and stories for readers. Build and maintain good relationships with journalists and editors. Respond flexibly, ready to change strategies based on feedback and actual situations.
Moderating the Forum, journalist Ho Quang Loi - Vice President of the Vietnam Digital Communications Association, former Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association said: The Forum is a place to exchange theories and practices in communications work at units and enterprises, with the participation of experienced economic and communications experts, businessmen who are leaders of large companies and corporations. With a genuine, objective and constructive voice, the press contributes to building a fair business environment for businesses to operate together, create value and contribute to the development of the country in the current difficult context. Through the press, businesses have the opportunity to promptly update the policies and guidelines of the Party and the State, the press needs to further promote its role as a bridge, companion, and support for business development.
