President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh welcomed the Prensa Latina delegation to visit and work in Vietnam on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba; at the same time, he affirmed that the close relationship between the press of the two countries has been nurtured over many generations, including many Vietnamese journalists who studied in Cuba.
Expressing his admiration for Cuba’s efforts to overcome difficulties, Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that Vietnam has provided much practical support on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations. The Vietnamese people are always ready to support Cuba unconditionally, especially in the field of press and media.
Sharing about the digital transformation process in Vietnamese journalism, Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that Vietnam is implementing it very quickly after the COVID-19 pandemic. Digital transformation is not only about investing in technology, but more importantly, it is about innovating thinking, skills, newsroom models and information transmission methods. Vietnam is ready to support Cuba in training, sharing experiences, transferring software and electronic newsroom management tools.

At the reception, President of Prensa Latina Jorge Legañoa Alonso sincerely thanked President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh for taking the time to receive the delegation; and expressed his deep condolences to the Vietnamese people for the damage caused by the storm. The delegation has learned many valuable experiences in the process of Vietnam's renovation, especially in the fields of economy and communication; and at the same time frankly shared the unprecedented difficulties that Cuba is facing. According to him, this is a period of great challenge but also an opportunity to train the mettle of the Cuban revolutionary press; affirming the determination to innovate its methods of operation and overcome challenges.
The President of Prensa Latina said that in the new development orientation, Prensa Latina identified the top priority as modernizing the technology infrastructure, perfecting the technical and legal foundation to serve digital transformation. This process can only be effective when deployed synchronously with appropriate management software and operational tools, helping to optimize operations in the modern press environment.
The next important task is to innovate the way of reporting to reach the public in a more direct and flexible way. Prensa Latina has operated as a multimedia platform for many years, but its full potential is still limited by a number of technical factors and old operating models. Therefore, the goal is to expand the scale, increase the efficiency of the system, and meet the communication requirements in the new period. The next priority is to take advantage of the network of resident reporters, improve professional quality and expand the reach of official information. Prensa Latina's leadership emphasized the need to reach young readers with appropriate language and form of expression; at the same time, said that the company wants to increase training and share experiences with the Vietnamese press to adapt and develop together in the digital age.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides agreed to cooperate closely in professional training, experience sharing, and organizing exchange courses on modern journalism methods and multi-platform journalism. Strengthening cooperation will help the press and media of the two countries develop more strongly, making a practical contribution to strengthening the traditional solidarity between Vietnam and Cuba.
During the working trip to Vietnam, on the morning of December 2, the Prensa Latina news agency delegation laid flowers at the Monument Complex in honor of Cuban experts and visited the Vietnam Military History Museum.
