On October 31, 2025, Southern Irrigation Exploitation Company Limited, Dau Tieng - Phuoc Hoa Branch, organized an inspection and assessment of the drainage status and flood discharge capacity of the canal after the spillway, the upstream area of the Saigon River (section through Dau Tieng commune, Ho Chi Minh City) to determine points at risk of congestion or landslides, thereby proposing and implementing technical measures and reasonable operations to ensure the safety of the dam, the safety of residents and production areas in the downstream area during the 6th water discharge operation through Dau Tieng reservoir spillway in 2025.

Through inspection, the water level in the downstream areas of Dau Tieng Lake is still within safe limits, the flood drainage capacity, the dike system and the tidal sluices at the upstream of the Saigon River in Nui Dat Hamlet, Dau Tieng Commune are generally still guaranteed.
However, according to local residents, some riverside locations, especially river and stream corridors, have been built by people with houses and solid structures, narrowing the flow, causing local flooding when there is prolonged heavy rain. In addition, some low-lying areas of crops and rubber trees along the river are also partially flooded.

According to information from Dau Tieng – Phuoc Hoa Branch, the current water level of Dau Tieng Lake is at 23.85m, 0.55m lower than the normal water level. However, the water source to the lake continues to increase (average 250 m³/s) while the tide level on the Saigon River is falling.
The reservoir management unit adjusted the time and flow of the first spillway discharge in the 6th phase of 2025 from October 29 to November 5 with a flexible discharge flow from 36 - 200m³/s to ensure a stable reservoir water level and proactively respond to weather developments in the late rainy season of 2025./.
