In recent times, production and business establishments in the province have basically complied with regulations on food production and trading. Up to now, the province has many agricultural products with high economic value, meeting food safety requirements, and having good consumption markets such as seedless persimmons, dong vermicelli, oranges, tangerines, bao thai rice, Khau Nua Lech fragrant sticky rice, products processed from turmeric, fragrant green squash and many other vegetables and tubers.

Notably, innovative models in the field of food safety have been effectively implemented. The model of collecting and recycling agricultural waste according to the circular principle not only brings economic efficiency but also protects the environment. In addition, the pilot market model ensuring food safety has been replicated in 3 locations: Van Tung market, Ngan Son district, Bang Phuc market, Cho Don district and Xuan Duong market, Na Ri district, creating a safe food business environment. Despite difficulties in budget sources, the province and relevant agencies have actively supported facilities and equipment to improve business conditions at the markets.

Food safety work always has effective coordination from sectors and organizations throughout the province. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development focuses on production, processing and trading of agricultural, forestry and fishery products towards ensuring quality, food safety and developing organic agriculture. Many outstanding models have been implemented, such as the model of linking organic rice production with experiential tourism in Thuong Giao commune (Ba Be district), the organic rice production model in Yen Phong commune (Cho Don district), and 11 rice production models towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions in Cho Don and Cho Moi districts. Up to now, the Department has supported and confirmed 44 safe food supply chains with 60 products, and supported the costs of appraisal, sample analysis, origin traceability stamps and chain stamps. These chains are supplying products to Hanoi and neighboring provinces, but the scale is still small and mainly through private contacts.

In the work of testing, monitoring and analyzing food contamination risks, the province maintains the operation of two ISO 17025-standard testing laboratories at the Center for Disease Control and the Center for Drug - Cosmetic - Food Testing. In addition, the Department of Health coordinates with the Department of Education and Training to maintain collective kitchen models, food safety boarding schools and deploy additional models of food service business points in tourist areas in Ba Be district.

In order to raise public awareness of food safety, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has coordinated with member organizations and relevant agencies to promote propaganda and dissemination of knowledge on food safety, Food Safety Action Month, and the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods". In addition, safe food production, processing and trading models have also been widely introduced, encouraging people to commit to producing and trading safe food. The Provincial Farmers' Association has supported members in connecting markets, building agricultural product brands and participating in e-commerce. In 2024, 1,929 farming households were supported to create accounts on e-commerce platforms, bringing the total number of participating households to 10,217. Forest and farm support programs (FFF) have also been implemented by bringing cooperatives to participate in fairs promoting typical agricultural products in Hanoi. In addition, 13 new organic production models have been built and maintained, typically with products such as fragrant pumpkin tea, dong vermicelli, Nep Tai rice... contributing to increasing the value of agricultural products.

The synchronous efforts of all levels, sectors and mass organizations have contributed to building a foundation for safe food production and trading, aiming at sustainable development. The results achieved not only affirm the importance of close coordination between units but also demonstrate the shared responsibility for public health and sustainable development of the province./.
