The market is stable but still faces challenges.
In 2025, the market situation in Thai Nguyen province is basically stable and developing in a positive direction. Commercial activities are vibrant in both urban and rural areas. The system of traditional markets, supermarkets, shopping malls, convenience stores, and online sales channels continues to expand, diversifying the types of goods and better meeting the consumer needs of the people.
According to the assessment of the Provincial Market Management Department, the supply of essential goods such as food, confectionery, beverages, clothing, and household items is adequately ensured. Prices have increased slightly during peak shopping periods at the end of the year, but generally remain in line with market principles, with no sudden price surges. Notably, there have been no recorded instances of speculation, hoarding, or illegal stockpiling that would disrupt supply and demand or create panic among the public.
This result is significant given the complexities often present at the end of the year, especially with the surge in consumer spending during the Lunar New Year holiday. A stable market helps ensure people's livelihoods while creating a favorable and healthy business environment for enterprises and business households in the province.
Despite positive signs, market management still faces numerous difficulties and challenges. While smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods trading haven't formed major "hot spots," they remain complex, especially in the distribution chain. Violators are increasingly employing sophisticated methods and tactics, exploiting e-commerce, social media, and express delivery services to transport and sell infringing goods.

Despite a decrease in the number of inspections and violations compared to 2024, the Thai Nguyen Market Management Force still detected and handled many complex cases involving large quantities of infringing goods. The violations mainly focused on trading smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, and counterfeit goods. Frequently infringing items included clothing, footwear, fashion accessories, cosmetics, processed foods, and household goods.
Notably, many cases discovered during the year involved high penalties and large amounts of infringing goods, demonstrating a clear deterrent effect and contributing to preventing and reducing attempts to profit from the Tet market.
According to Mr. Ha The Hung, Deputy Head of Market Management Team No. 5, the goods market started to become more active from the end of November and the beginning of December 2025. The team has intensified inspections and controls at major goods collection points, supermarkets, and retail stores, while also closely monitoring traditional markets in rural and mountainous areas. The goal is to promptly grasp the situation, prevent violations, and ensure the quality and supply of goods to meet people's shopping needs during Tet (Lunar New Year).

To achieve positive results, the Market Management Department of Thai Nguyen province has closely followed the directives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Market Management Department, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Steering Committee 389, implementing a comprehensive set of market management solutions appropriate to the local situation.
As the Standing Agency of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, the Market Management Sub-Department proactively advises on the issuance of plans for peak periods to combat smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, especially during holidays and Tet (Lunar New Year). The compilation and reporting of activity results are carried out seriously and promptly, effectively serving the direction and management work.
