Previously, on May 5th, Thach Ha Medical Center admitted pregnant woman NTL (born in 1995, residing in Gia Hanh commune). The woman, pregnant with her second child at 40 weeks and 2 days gestation, was admitted with intermittent abdominal pain.

Dr. Tran Thanh Hai, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, is checking the health of the pregnant woman.
Upon examination, doctors discovered umbilical cord prolapse, fetal heart rate fluctuating between 140-170 beats/minute, cervix dilated 5cm, cephalic presentation, bulging amniotic sac, and a palpable prolapsed umbilical cord within the amniotic sac. This was an extremely urgent obstetric emergency, posing a direct threat to the fetus's life if not treated promptly.
Immediately, the hospital-wide "Red Alert" procedure was activated. With close coordination between the emergency and anesthesia departments, surgery was performed to safely deliver the fetus.

After a race against time by the medical team, a healthy baby boy was born weighing 3 kg. Right in the operating room, the baby received intensive resuscitation, cried loudly, had good reflexes, and had rosy skin, much to the overwhelming joy of the family and medical staff.
Currently, both mother and baby are in stable condition and continue to receive careful monitoring and care.
Dr. Tran Thanh Hai, Head of the Department of Reproductive Health and Obstetrics at Thach Ha Medical Center, said that umbilical cord prolapse is one of the most dangerous obstetric emergencies, requiring immediate action. The timely activation of a red alert and close coordination between specialties helped save the baby's life and ensure the mother's safety.
