Storm Koto enters the East Sea, becoming storm number 15

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting informed that on the evening of November 25, the tropical depression strengthened into storm Koto and entered the East Sea, becoming the 15th storm in the East Sea in 2025.

At 4:00 a.m. on November 26, the storm center was at about 12.2 degrees North latitude - 119.1 degrees East longitude, about 540 km east of Song Tu Tay island. The strongest wind near the storm center was level 8 (62-74 km/h), gusting to level 10. The storm is moving northwest at a speed of 20-25 km/h.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from the morning of November 26 to the morning of November 27, storm No. 15 will move northwest at a speed of 20-25km/hour and is likely to strengthen to level 10 with gusts of level 13. The center of the storm on the morning of November 27 is located in the middle of the East Sea, about 200km northeast of Song Tu Tay Island.

From the morning of November 27 to the morning of November 28, the storm will change direction to West Southwest at a speed of 5-10km/hour and is likely to strengthen to level 11 with gusts of level 14.

From the morning of November 28 to the morning of November 29, the storm changed direction to move west at a speed of about 5km/hour and maintained the intensity of level 11 with gusts of level 14. At this time, the storm center will be located in the western sea area of ​​the central East Sea, about 250km west-northwest of Song Tu Tay island.

According to the meteorological agency, on November 26, the central East Sea area (including the sea area north of Truong Sa special zone) will experience strong winds of level 6-7, near the storm center, strong winds of level 8-10, gusting to level 13.

During November 27 and 28, the central East Sea area, including the waters north of Truong Sa special zone, may be affected by strong winds of level 11, gusting to level 14. Waves may be 7-9m high, with rough seas. Vessels operating in the above-mentioned dangerous areas are at risk of being affected by storms, strong winds and large waves.
