French media impressed by luxury train tour across Vietnam.

According to the VNA correspondent in Paris, two French newspapers, Le Figaro and Ouest-France, recently published articles introducing the SJourney luxury train service for cross-Vietnam travel.

Since the end of 2024, Vietnam has launched its first premium rail tourism product, allowing travelers to fully explore the country's beauty on an 8-day, 7-night North-South journey aboard a train dubbed the "Orient Express of Asia".

The aforementioned SJourney is the first luxury railway tour in Vietnam, launched by PYS Travel in collaboration with Vietnam Railways Corporation . This product is expected to open a new direction for high-end tourism, based on slow, deep, and emotionally rich experiences.

Departing from Hanoi and ending in Ho Chi Minh City, the train travels along the North-South railway line, considered the "backbone" of the country's transportation system. Throughout the journey, travelers have the opportunity to admire diverse landscapes of Vietnam, from rice paddies and coastal villages to lagoons, limestone mountains, and plateaus. Many stops are designed as cultural and historical landmarks, including Ninh Binh, the ancient capital of Hue, and the ancient town of Hoi An. At each leg of the journey, travelers participate in guided tours, all included in the tour package.

The train's interior is described as a "luxury hotel on the tracks." The train accommodates only about 60 passengers, all in private compartments fully equipped with high-end amenities. In addition, there are common areas, a bar, and a dining car serving meals that combine Asian and international cuisine, accompanied by a selection of wines from various countries.

According to French press descriptions, SJourney aims for the spirit of legendary rail journeys, emphasizing a slow pace and the experience of the trip, rather than focusing solely on the destination. In a context where air travel is shrinking space, trains allow travelers to explore Vietnam through every window.

The price for this trip is announced at around 8,000 euros per person, reflecting the product's high-end positioning, which targets international travelers seeking luxury travel experiences combined with exploring local culture.

The launch of SJourney is considered a significant step for Vietnamese tourism in its efforts to diversify products and exploit the value of the North-South railway line not only as a means of transportation, but also as a unique and culturally rich tourism experience space.
