The total value of the support is nearly 300 million VND, taken from the contributions of PLVN Newspaper staff, reporters and benefactors. Each gift given to the people not only has material significance, but is also a great source of spiritual encouragement to help people stabilize their lives soon.
Sharing difficulties with people in deep flooded areas
The first stop of the Vietnam Law Newspaper delegation was Cu Chanh 2 residential group (Thuy Xuan ward) - where many households are still recovering from the consequences of days of rising water, damaged furniture, and disrupted daily life. Here, the delegation presented 110 gifts and medicine to households that suffered heavy damage.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Mr. Tran Ngoc Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Law Newspaper, shared: "We wish to promptly support families in difficulty, and at the same time send words of encouragement to people so that everyone can soon stabilize their lives after the flood."
Arriving at the Cu Chanh 2 Village Cultural House very early, Mr. Pham Van Hoang (65 years old) could not hide his emotions when seeing the working group of Vietnam Law Newspaper.
Mr. Hoang suffered from severe pneumonia and had just been hospitalized when the flood came. During those days, his wife had to struggle alone in the rapidly rising floodwaters, and all the furniture in the house was submerged and damaged. In particular, the flock of 50 chickens - the only asset the family had saved to pay for hospital bills - was also swept away by the flood.
“I couldn’t sleep last night, just waiting for the morning to come so I could go receive the gift. This money is very precious to my family. I will buy some food to stock up for the coming days. As for the illness… I will leave it for later,” Mr. Hoang said in tears.
Mr. Than Ba Tuan - Head of the Residential Group of Cu Chanh 2 said that the recent flood caused heavy damage to many households in the area, especially families with elderly, sick or agricultural workers. "The water rose very quickly, many houses could not react in time, their property was swept away or almost completely damaged. Today, with the support of the Vietnam Law Newspaper, more than
100 gifts, people were very touched and grateful. This is a very timely source of encouragement to help them overcome the difficult period after the flood", Mr. Tuan shared.

Warmth at Duc Son Pagoda
Leaving the residential group of Cu Chanh 2, the delegation of Phap Luat Viet Nam Newspaper visited Duc Son Pagoda - a place that is taking care of more than 80 orphans, disabled children and children in especially difficult circumstances. The recent flood caused the first floor of the pagoda to be submerged nearly 2 meters deep, many items, beds, and daily necessities of the children were completely damaged.
In the temple yard, the mud has not been cleared yet, but the laughter of children resonates, touching everyone. It is known that 15 days ago, the temple also received a newborn baby girl who was abandoned under the Bodhi tree in front of the gate, and is currently being raised at the temple.
The recent flood caused the first floor of the pagoda to be submerged almost up to the head, invading the entire living area, kitchen, classrooms and children's sleeping areas. Furniture, books, bedding, food and provisions were all damaged.
A nun at the temple shared: “The water has never risen so fast. All efforts at that time were just to protect the children.” For many hours, the nuns had to carry each child to the upper floors in extremely dangerous conditions.
Here, the working group presented 20 million VND along with necessities, milk, cakes and medicine to help the pagoda overcome difficulties and stabilize the children's lives.

Accompanying dialysis patients
The next destination of the group was the Artificial Kidney Department – Hue Central Hospital. The recent flood has caused great difficulty in traveling, while patients still have to undergo regular dialysis several times a week to maintain life.
Here, the delegation presented 50 million VND to patients of the Artificial Kidney Department - which is treating 350 patients on end-stage dialysis, with more than 950 dialysis cases per week.
Doctor Dinh Thi Nhu Hao - Head of the department said: " Most of the patients here are in difficult circumstances, having to undergo dialysis several times a week. During the flood, their travel is extremely difficult. Today's gift is a great encouragement, like a dose of spiritual medicine to help them be more steadfast."
Seeing the emotional tears of the patients, the working group could not help but be moved, and felt more deeply the responsibility to accompany and share with those in difficult circumstances during storms and floods.

Supporting Huong Thuy people after the historic flood
On the same afternoon, the delegation of Vietnam Law Newspaper went to Huong Thuy ward, visited and presented dozens of gifts to poor households, lonely elderly people and families facing difficulties after the flood.
In many low-lying areas, water is still stagnant, many people have to wade through water to receive gifts, but when the gifts are handed to them along with words of encouragement, everyone feels warm.
In particular, the delegation visited the house of Mrs. Vo Thi Nien - the martyr's wife, who lives with her grandchildren in a level 4 house in Phu Nam 3 residential group. When receiving the gifts, she could only hold the hands of the delegation members, moved beyond words.

Mr. Nguyen Cuu Ngoc - Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee said: " The recent flood caused serious damage, many people fell into exhaustion. The fact that Vietnam Law Newspaper came to give gifts and encourage people is a very valuable gesture. On behalf of the locality, I would like to send my sincere thanks to the newspaper and the benefactors."
Journalist Nguyen Quang Tam - Head of PLVN Newspaper Representative Office in Da Nang City shared: " Only when you come to the place and witness with your own eyes can you fully understand what the people in the flood areas have to endure. Each gift, though small, contains sentiments, hoping to help people stabilize their lives soon. All gift-giving activities are closely coordinated with local authorities to ensure that they reach the right people, in the most difficult circumstances."
Leaving Huong Thuy ward, the working group of Vietnam Law Newspaper continued their journey to Hoa Chau ward to visit, encourage and give gifts to households facing difficulties after the flood.
On this occasion, Vietnam Law Newspaper donated 30 million VND to support Hoa Chau ward, helping households stabilize their lives soon.
