Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the collective of cadres, reporters and editors of Quang Tri Newspaper in 2023, worthy of being a forum for the People, the Party Committee and the Government of Quang Tri Province. Quang Tri Newspaper has done a good job of communicating the messages and actions of the province in implementing the socio-economic development goals, thereby arousing the strength of the entire political system and the people to complete the goals of the year, accelerating the implementation of the goals set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 17th National Party Congress of the Provincial Party Committee.

In 2024, in addition to effectively implementing the acceleration goals, this is the year towards major events of the homeland, the country, and the province such as the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Geneva Agreement on the cessation of hostilities in Vietnam; the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army; the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; the 35th anniversary of the founding of Quang Tri province, the 70th anniversary of Vinh Linh tradition and the establishment of Vinh Linh Special Zone to realize the aspiration for peace associated with the first "For Peace" Festival... Therefore, in addition to the task of regular information and propaganda, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that Quang Tri newspaper closely follow the instructions of the competent authorities, proactively develop a propaganda plan to ensure focus, key points, spread, and arouse the aspiration for peace, unity, and the aspiration to rise of the land and people of Quang Tri.

In the context of strong development of information technology, Quang Tri Newspaper is requested to continue improving the quality of electronic newspapers, creating strong exchange and dissemination of information in the coming time.
Focus on promoting important political, economic and social events of the province.
Reporting on the summary of the propaganda and publishing tasks of Quang Tri Newspaper in 2023, Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper Truong Duc Minh Tu said that the newspaper has published 260 daily issues, 52 weekend issues, 12 special issues, and 2 Tet issues. Along with doing a good job of information and propaganda work in the fields of politics, economics, society, national defense, security, foreign affairs, etc., Quang Tri Newspaper has opened a special page on the daily newspaper and published special issues and special issues to focus on providing bold information about important political events of the province.

Criticizing the signs of degradation in political ideology, morality, lifestyle, and the signs of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” among cadres and party members. In addition, the newspaper selects and cites many important articles by Party and State leaders, theorists, and experts in various fields to refute the distorted arguments of hostile forces, thereby orienting public opinion, helping readers to perceive the problem correctly, and clearly recognize the reactionary nature of hostile forces.

An important event hosted by Quang Tri Newspaper in April 2023 is the 10th Conference of Party Newspapers of provinces and cities in the Central Highlands - Central region (round 4) with the participation of 42 Party newspaper delegations in the country. With the theme: "Party Newspapers with propaganda to protect the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation", the conference shared many good, creative and effective ways of newspapers in informing and propagating on Party newspapers about building, rectifying and protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation to learn and replicate these ways. The presentations at the conference are the source of articles of Quang Tri Newspaper to propagate, fight against wrong and hostile viewpoints, and protect the Party's ideological foundation.
In 2023, through many channels, more than 80 petitions and information from citizens were sent to Quang Tri Newspaper reflecting, recommending, complaining and denouncing many "hot" issues, causing public outrage. The work of handling citizen petitions has contributed to enhancing the newspaper's critical nature, meeting the people's aspirations and helping the government and competent agencies grasp and resolve cases satisfactorily and in accordance with legal regulations.
Electronic newspapers meet the criteria of multimedia journalism.
In early 2023, Quang Tri Newspaper completed the electronic newspaper development project (under the Quang Tri Electronic Newspaper Development Project and the computerization of the print newspaper publishing process). The project invested in building new software and purchasing many modern equipment to serve the work of journalism.

After operating the new website, Quang Tri electronic newspaper has made remarkable developments, meeting the criteria of multimedia and multi-platform journalism, comparable to top electronic newspapers, as shown by: elegant interface, reasonable arrangement of categories and types; very fast access speed; has an English page with 6 categories (news, politics, society, business, culture, tourism); integrates all forms of expression of press types (print, radio, television, electronic newspapers) on the website. Some works are selected to be expressed in the genres of Emagazine, Infographic, videoclip, audio.
In terms of operations, important events are organized via livestream and live reporting such as: Workshop "Party Newspaper with the protection of the Party's ideological foundation in the new situation", Scientific Workshop "Historical evidence and the role of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam in the resistance war against the US, saving the country", Provincial People's Council meetings... In addition to being published on Quang Tri electronic newspaper, press works are also shared on social platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, X. In addition, with the consent of Quang Tri newspaper, the general information page Bao Moi has promptly updated a lot of information from Quang Tri electronic newspaper, so the number of daily readers accessing the newspaper is very high, contributing to widely spreading information to subjects in society, including overseas Vietnamese and foreigners.

Newspaper distribution has also achieved remarkable results. Currently, the average number of newspapers distributed is about 6,000 copies/issue, widely distributed to communes, villages in remote areas, border areas, coastal communes... Notably, all 3,162 delegates of People's Councils at all levels; secretaries of Party cells under Party committees of communes, wards, and towns; heads of mountainous and coastal villages, and prestigious people in ethnic minority communities all have Quang Tri newspaper. In addition, spring issues are also distributed to Truong Sa island to serve officers and soldiers on the island.
The newspaper's leadership pays special attention to improving the professional qualifications of reporters and editors. In order to meet the requirements of multimedia journalism, each reporter and editor must be able to perform both print and electronic newspaper tasks (camera shooting, film editing, field reporting, electronic newspaper presentation with high technical and professional requirements such as Emagazine, Infographic, photo...). The leadership has created favorable conditions and required reporters and editors to fully participate in professional training courses.
Along with performing professional tasks well, Quang Tri Newspaper always pays attention to social activities, charity, and helping the poor. In 2023, it mobilized and coordinated charitable activities worth more than 5.25 billion VND...
With the efforts of the staff and reporters, in 2023, Quang Tri Newspaper was awarded a certificate of merit by the Central Propaganda Department for its achievements in information and propaganda and in carrying out political tasks. During the year, the newspaper also won central and provincial press awards, including: Encouragement Prize of the National Press Award; Third Prize of the National Award for Foreign Information; 4 Quang Tri Provincial Press Awards; 4 Quang Tri Golden Hammer and Sickle Awards; Collective Award and 1 Third Prize of the "Silent Contributions" writing contest; Third Prize of the writing contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation.
Focus on promoting major events in 2024
In 2024, Quang Tri Newspaper will continue to carry out digital transformation activities, completing the computerization of the print newspaper publishing process and administrative management of the agency. Propagating effectively and qualitatively important political events of the country and the province, focusing on propagating the 35th anniversary of the province's re-establishment, organizing the first Peace Festival, creating a widespread political movement among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life.
In-depth propaganda on Party building work. Focus on propaganda on administrative reform, especially administrative procedures; investment promotion activities, mobilizing resources to implement plans to exploit the potential and advantages of the East-West Economic Corridor, the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone, the province's industrial parks and promote Quang Tri tourism associated with propaganda on foreign information work; especially focusing on propaganda on key projects of the province that will start construction at the end of 2023 and in 2024...
Information and propaganda on exploiting potentials and advantages, enhancing the competitiveness of the economy; the movement for the whole people to unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Strengthening information on supervision and social criticism of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, creating consensus in implementing socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, maintaining sovereignty over borders, seas and islands; contributing to orienting ideology, creating people's trust in the path of national renewal, the leadership of the Party and State, of local Party committees and authorities.
Perform well the task of receiving and processing petitions and feedback from people via hotlines according to legal regulations. Promote social and charitable activities, contributing with the Party and State to ensure social security in the province.
At the conference, representatives of the units had discussions on the results achieved in coordinating the implementation of propaganda columns and pages in Quang Tri newspaper.
Affirming the effectiveness of propaganda of columns and pages in Quang Tri newspaper in recent times, representatives of the units said that thanks to the "increasing density" of the transmission of activities of sectors and localities in Quang Tri newspaper, information in all fields reaches the people in a timely, practical, in-depth, diverse, rich and effective manner. Thereby, it contributes significantly to the sectors and localities effectively performing their tasks.
