Previously, on October 20, 2025, the conference was held in Da Nang City under the co-chair of Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong and Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi. Also attending the conference were representatives of leaders of central and local agencies, experts and researchers.
The conference listened to the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City presenting the summary report, 6 discussion reports and 8 comments of the delegates, especially the direction of Deputy Minister Hoang Dao Cuong. The leaders of the People's Committee of Da Nang City co-chaired the conference, unanimously assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and localities to fully and seriously absorb the comments of experts, scientists , agencies, units and delegates participating in the Conference, continue to research and complete the summary report on the implementation of the Master Plan for Investment in Conservation, Restoration and Promotion of the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town associated with the development of Hoi An city and tourism in the period 2012 - 2025.
In addition, the organization of the new planning task on the conservation and promotion of the value of the World Cultural Heritage of Hoi An Ancient Town in the next phase must ensure compliance with legal regulations. In the process of implementing the planning task for the new phase, it is necessary to seriously and comprehensively evaluate the contents implemented in the period 2012 - 2025 in order to inherit the core goals and tasks of the old Planning, thereby building a new vision and overall, long-term orientation for the next phase, in accordance with the two-level local government and the current development context.
In conclusion, the new planning task needs to be implemented cautiously and scientifically, ensuring continuity and not disrupting the overall historical, cultural, and ecological space of Hoi An Ancient Town in the relevant localities (Hoi An Ward, Hoi An Dong Ward, Hoi An Tay Ward, Tan Hiep Commune); ensuring the planning of the Hoi An Ancient Town's sub-zones in terms of: preserving the core heritage area, buffer zone, transition zone, and developing the peripheral areas appropriately in conjunction with creative spaces; preserving and promoting the value of traditional craft villages, historical and cultural relics; riverine and marine spaces; maintaining the spatial linkage between the Heritage area and the Cu Lao Cham - Hoi An World Biosphere Reserve; responding to climate change; integrating ecological, cultural, and tourism elements; paying attention to connecting transportation and technical infrastructure with neighboring localities, in accordance with the city's overall planning orientation. At the same time, focus on applying digital technology, adapting to digital transformation trends and the new era.
In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City proactively researches and advises on conservation solutions, improves administrative procedures, and enhances management efficiency; at the same time, ensures harmony between conservation and tourism development, between preserving cultural values and continuing to improve the lives of local communities.
The leaders of the Da Nang City People's Committee also assigned the Department of Finance to preside over the appraisal of the budget and advise on the allocation of funds for the implementation of the planning for the preservation and promotion of the value of the Hoi An Ancient Town World Cultural Heritage site in the next phase. At the same time, they requested relevant agencies and units to effectively implement the contents, ensuring that the preservation and promotion of the value of the Hoi An Ancient Town World Cultural Heritage site, in conjunction with tourism and urban development, is carried out effectively and sustainably, contributing to building Hoi An into a typical cultural, ecological, and tourist destination of Vietnam and the world.
