The 45 poems in the collection are like diary pages recording the innocent emotions, activities, and thoughts of children through the lens of their grandmother. These are very ordinary poems such as “My class practices dancing”, “My garden corner”, “The clock ticks”… Like the feeling of starting a new day with warm rays of sunlight: “Hello, the new morning sunlight/ Through the window, my deer eyes look/ The sunlight smiles in the shimmering wind/ Calling me to wake up, startled, oh sunshine” (“Hello, the new sunlight”). Or watching her grandchild practice drawing, poet Dang Tuyet composed “I draw my dream”: “The vast countryside fields/ Flocks of white storks fly/ Through the deep green corn fields/ The fragrant smell of new rice”.

Children's poetry by author Dang Tuyet focuses on evocative imagery and descriptive scenes, bringing readers truthful, interesting, and imaginative verses. With "My Hammock", the poet writes: "The creaking sound / In the middle of a hot summer afternoon / Lulls me to sleep..." Or the image of a baby playing on a swing through the author's pen: "A swing / I laugh out loud / It's a small space / But my dreams are big".

In “Dream Kite”, poet Dang Tuyet also has many poems about life skills for children, lessons about family love, love for the homeland, simple, easy to understand, easy to remember. In the poem “Color of my beloved shirt”, the author wrote: “I love the flag/ Five-pointed star/ Bright red in the corner of the sky/ Flying, flying”. Or the pride of “Homeland of Vietnam”: “The flag flutters/ Echoes of a new day/ Children remember/ Our country/ A thousand years of history”. There are also many poems that are life lessons expressed in a lovely way, suitable for the souls of children: “I go out into the street/ I meet a red light/ Stop, Mom/ Don’t go too fast” (“Yellow light, green light”)…

The poems in this collection are not philosophical, not polished in their words, and not too elaborate in their techniques. But what attracts readers is their clarity and cuteness. As a grandmother of two young girls, poet Dang Tuyet puts herself in the position of the children to think, love, and write poetry. With two published collections of children's poetry, poet Dang Tuyet has gradually shaped her style in this genre of poetry.
