Bayern are ready to part ways with Davies. |
According to Kicker , Bayern's management wants to cut their wage bill by around 15 million euros per year, and Davies has become a potential transfer target. His high salary and a string of injuries have led the Allianz Arena club to question the effectiveness of their investment in the Canadian defender.
Despite having just extended his contract in February 2025 and being bound until 2030, Bayern are reportedly beginning to "seriously consider" the possibility of parting ways with Davies less than 18 months after signing the new contract.
However, the deal is considered difficult to complete. Davies earns nearly 15 million euros per season, placing him among the highest-paid players at the club. Given his persistent fitness issues, Bayern understands it will be very difficult to find a team willing to meet both the transfer fee and the player's enormous salary demands.
Since suffering a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury in late 2025, Davies has been unable to regain his best form. A series of muscle problems have kept him sidelined frequently, and a thigh injury has forced the defender to miss the German Cup final against Stuttgart on May 24th.
Davies' chances of recovering in time for Canada's World Cup campaign on home soil remain uncertain and will depend entirely on the Bayern medical team.
