At around 6:00 a.m. the same day, in the area opposite the Hanoi University of Home Affairs Branch in Quang Nam (located in Dien Ngoc ward), local people heard the sound of a baby crying coming from a trash can.
When they came closer to check, they discovered a baby boy with his umbilical cord still attached abandoned in a trash can, so they took him to Dien Ngoc Ward Health Station. Here, after being breastfed, the baby boy weighing 3kg was transferred to Da Nang Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital for further monitoring.
"Currently, the local government is in the process of finding the child's relatives. Also this morning, a couple contacted us with the desire to adopt the child," the leader of Dien Ngoc Ward People's Committee added.
More than a week ago, in Kon Tum province, a newborn baby boy with his umbilical cord still attached was also abandoned.
Accordingly, at around 6:20 a.m. on February 24, Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuc (village 3, Dak Mar commune, Dak Ha district) heard the sound of a baby crying in front of his house so he ran out to see. At this time, he discovered a newborn baby boy wrapped in a red coat placed in front of his house so he reported it to the local authorities.
Upon receiving the news, Dak Mar commune authorities made a record and took the boy to Dak Ha District Medical Center for care.
According to information from Dak Ha District Medical Center, the baby boy's umbilical cord is still uncut, weighs 3.4 kg, and is in normal health. Dak Mar Commune People's Committee has issued a notice about the abandoned baby so that the father, mother and relatives can come and complete the procedures to receive the baby.
