Ben Johns and Tyson McGuffin participate in the Pickleball PPA Tour Asia tournament in Da Nang

(NLDO) - Ben Johns, Tyson McGuffin, Ly Hoang Nam, Trinh Linh Giang... will compete in Pickleball PPA Tour Asia - Vietnam Cup 2025 in Da Nang.

On September 10, the Organizing Committee of the Pickleball Tournament PPA Tour Asia - Vietnam Cup 2025 held a press conference before the international Pickleball tournament PPA Tour Asia - Vietnam Cup 2025 in Da Nang City.

Asia's Largest Pickleball Tournament

PPA Tour Asia - Vietnam Cup 2025 is jointly organized by the United States Pickleball Association (UPA), America & Aisa Joint Stock Company (AAC) and Da Nang Pickleball Federation (DPF); AAC.

The world's top 10 Pickleball stars will compete in Da Nang from September 30.

The tournament takes place from September 30 to October 4 at Tien Son Sports Palace and Tuyen Son Sports Village (Hoa Cuong Ward, Da Nang City).

PPA Tour is the world's most prestigious and dramatic Pickleball tournament under the professional tournament system of the United States Pickleball Association (UPA), including: PPA Open (Open tournament, gathering many professional and semi-professional athletes); PPA Cup (Prestigious tournament, destination of excellent tennis players of the season); PPA Slam (Highest level, similar to "Grand Slam" in tennis, only for the strongest athletes on the planet).

PPA Tour Asia - Vietnam Cup 2025, taking place for the first time in Da Nang, is the largest Pickleball tournament in Asia in terms of prize size, number of participating athletes and audience.

The world's top 10 athletes participating in the tournament include Federico Staksrud, Anna Bright, Tyson McGuffin, Zoey Chao Yi Wang, Kaitlyn Christian, Alix Truong... Along with that, Vietnam's number 1 tennis players such as Trinh Linh Giang, Ly Hoang Nam, Phuc Huynh... will also compete at the PPA Tour Asia - Vietnam Cup 2025.

In particular, legendary Pickleball player Ben Johns confirmed that he will participate in the tournament. Through a clip sent to the program, Ben Johns said he is very eager to come to Vietnam to compete. "Vietnam is a beautiful country with great Pickleball fans. I can't wait for the tournament to start" - Ben Johns shared.

It is expected that tennis player Ben Johns will start competing at PPA Tour Asia - Vietnam Cup 2025 from October 1, 2025.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Tao Viet Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, said that this event not only helps develop sports tourism for Da Nang in particular but is also expected to contribute to promoting the image, country and people of the city to the world.

"I suggest that the tourism promotion center research and invite more tourists currently in Da Nang to participate to contribute to the success of the tournament," said Mr. Tao Viet Hai.

According to the organizers, in the PPA Tour Asia - Vietnam Cup 2025, the amateur content will also be an important part of the tournament. Players of all ages and categories will compete with professional athletes, with gold medals and honors waiting.
