On the afternoon of April 5, the Ministry of Health announced decisions on personnel work at the Central Psychiatric Hospital I under the Ministry of Health . Here, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan handed over the decision to assign the management and operation of the Central Psychiatric Hospital I to Mr. Nguyen Manh Phat, Deputy Director of the hospital, from April 1 until the decision to appoint the hospital director is made.
Also from this time, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel (Ministry of Health), will stop his duties as manager of the Central Psychiatric Hospital I.

Previously, Mr. Vuong Van Tinh, former Director of Central Psychiatric Hospital I, was dismissed from his position and a series of hospital officials were reprimanded and criticized for their involvement in the incident of mental patients "flying", trading and using drugs in the hospital.
Mr. Tinh was dismissed from his position due to lax management, failure to properly perform the duties and responsibilities of the unit's head, allowing violations of the law on drug prevention and social evils within the hospital, with very serious consequences.
To strengthen the management staff of this hospital, on May 27, 2021, the Ministry of Health assigned Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tuan Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel (Ministry of Health), the task of managing and being in charge of the hospital.

Central Psychiatric Hospital I is one of the largest psychiatric hospitals in the country. It is responsible for medical examination, treatment, disease prevention, and rehabilitation support for psychiatric patients at the highest level.
