After more than 2 years of implementation, many European-standard bus stops in Hanoi are gradually deteriorating, making it difficult for people to get on and off because some stops are not conveniently located.

In order to encode the system of bus stops and bus shelters; improve and innovate the way of providing information about routes, stops and especially bus time information on the city's bus infrastructure system, at the end of 2021, Hanoi installed many European standard bus stops. The new bus stops installed on Hanoi's inner-city routes have sufficient conditions such as sidewalks at least 3m wide or more, open locations, and do not affect residential areas.
New signage system at bus stops clearly displays route information.
With the proposal to add 2,500 - 2,700 bus stops between now and 2025, new bus stops in Hanoi will be built in a modern direction, using solar energy.
There is a lighting system at night to make it convenient for passengers to read route and bus information when entering and exiting stops.
However, after more than 2 years of implementation, many European-standard bus stops in Hanoi are gradually deteriorating, making it difficult for people to get on and off due to some unfavorable locations. In the photo, at the European-standard bus stop on Buoi Street (Ba Dinh District), due to its location in an area that is often flooded, people have to struggle to get on and off the bus. Some people roll up their pants, others jump from the bus straight onto the sidewalk.
To facilitate passengers getting on and off the bus, some buses have to pull up close to the sidewalk when arriving at this stop.
Buses cannot get close and have to park diagonally due to cars stopping right in front of the station, making it difficult for people to get on and off the bus, especially the elderly and children.
The European-standard bus stop on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street (Dong Da District) is gradually deteriorating.
The roof is peeling and seriously damaged.
Public transport maps at bus stops are no longer clear.
Behind the entire paint has faded and there are many advertisements and classified ads plastered all over.
A European-standard bus stop on Hoang Quoc Viet Street (Cau Giay District) is also gradually deteriorating. The roof shows signs of peeling off, posing a potential risk of accidents for people.
