Comprehensive, practical training
In the recent two-level command-agency exercise on the map and in the field, with live air-bullet firing, Division 2 completed all the contents, in accordance with the purpose and requirements of the exercise, ensuring absolute safety. To achieve this result, the Party Committee and Division commanders focused on comprehensive leadership and direction, and carefully prepared all aspects, from building a system of documents, consolidating training grounds, fortifications, battlefields, training and fostering cadres to ensuring logistics and techniques. All preparation stages were organized closely, scientifically , closely following the requirements of current combat practice.
Lieutenant Colonel Bui Dinh Thu, Commander of Regiment 1, Division 2, shared: "Marching long distances, carrying heavy loads through steep mountain passes, in sunny, windy and rainy weather, but the officers and soldiers were all steadfast and made efforts, demonstrating the mettle and enduring health of the main force unit, maintaining the mobile formation."

On a late October night, on the training ground after a rainstorm, flickering lights illuminated the mud-stained faces of the soldiers of the Reconnaissance Company, Regiment 1. Each technical and tactical move was performed precisely, flexibly, and close to the reality of combat. Sergeant Dinh Duy Quang, Squad Leader of Squad 1, Reconnaissance Platoon, Reconnaissance Company, said: "Nighttime training and exercises require high concentration and proficient skills. We identify this as the environment to train endurance, bravery and the ability to react quickly in all combat situations."
The training practice of Division 2 shows that, despite the harsh weather conditions, the remote training ground, and the lack of uniform training equipment, the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the will to overcome difficulties of the officers and soldiers are always promoted. The Party Committee and the Division's commanders clearly identified: Improving the quality of training is a central political task, a regular breakthrough. Therefore, leadership and direction are carried out closely and synchronously; the responsibility and exemplary role of the cadre team are promoted in each content and subject.
Colonel Le Sy Hung, Political Commissar of Division 2, affirmed: “The unit determines to organize comprehensive training, focusing on tactical training, and cadre training as the key. We always promote the combined strength, the spirit of self-reliance, and mobilize all resources to improve the quality of training and combat readiness of the unit.” Thanks to the synchronous implementation of many solutions, the unit's young cadres quickly matured and mastered training methods and styles. Lieutenant Tran Khac Huong, Deputy Political Commissar of Company 5, Battalion 2, Regiment 1, shared: “The training sessions, tutorials, and training method training from superiors help me feel more confident when communicating and directing troops to practice. Every day on the training ground, there are more lessons, experiences, and love for the profession of young officers.”
The work of inspecting and evaluating training results was carried out seriously and substantially by Division 2. Each training content was linked to specific criteria, taking quality and effectiveness as a measure of the command and organizational capacity of cadres at all levels. Thanks to this scientific and methodical approach, Division 2 has made a clear change in the quality of training.
Prepare carefully and perform "standardization"
Division 2 is the main unit with sufficient troops of Military Region 5, therefore, improving overall quality and combat strength is always identified as a central and consistent requirement. Colonel Nguyen Truong Sinh, Division Commander of Division 2, shared his experience: The unit always conducts synchronous, effective, non-overlapping training; attaches importance to training new soldiers, imparting practical experience, practicing basic skills combined with proficient use of existing weapons and equipment. From planning, compiling lesson plans, making teaching models to testing and evaluation, everything is standardized, suitable to the characteristics of the task...
Every year, the Division invests in consolidating training grounds, training grounds, and training models that are complete and of high quality; regularly ensuring good weapons, equipment, logistics, and technical support for the subjects. The training of training staff is given special attention with 100% of training staff being trained according to their levels, of which more than 90% of battalion staff and over 75% of company and platoon staff are good and excellent. This is an important basis to ensure the quality and effectiveness of each training session.

Closely following the mission requirements, the unit promotes intensive training according to the motto "basic, practical, solid", closely combining theory and practice, taking practice as the main focus. Night training and mobile training are maintained regularly, helping soldiers practice endurance, coordination and flexible response. Thanks to that, 100% of training subjects meet the requirements or better, of which over 76% are good and excellent; command-agency exercises, live-fire exercises, sea and island operations, and combat shooting always ensure safety and high quality. Many collectives in the Division were awarded the titles of "Excellent Training Unit" and "Excellent Physical Training Unit" by the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 5.
Along with training, Division 2 strictly maintains combat readiness; regularly supplements and completes combat plans, especially plans to protect key targets and handle unexpected situations. The unit also proactively coordinates with local Party committees and authorities to build defense zones, practice maneuvers, and be ready to respond promptly to natural disasters.
