On the morning of December 9, the Vietnamese women's team had a light training session after losing 0-1 to the Philippines in the second match of Group B of the 33rd SEA Games women's football.
Coach Mai Duc Chung's team is in a difficult position as they must defeat Myanmar in the final round to be sure of advancing to the semi-finals.
Sharing before the training session, midfielder Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy said the whole team was quite sad after losing to the Philippines, but had regained their spirits to look forward to the decisive match.
“The whole team and I were quite sad but we pulled ourselves together and focused on the goal of the Myanmar match. Everyone was united and determined for the final match,” the 31-year-old player shared.

She is also determined to help her team defend the gold medal: "We will try our best to keep the SEA Games gold medal. Do our best and bring achievements home for the whole team."
“The more difficult the situation is, the more miracles Vietnam will create. I would like to thank the fans. Yesterday was quite sad, but everyone still stayed and showed great affection for the Vietnamese women's team,” the midfielder of the Vietnamese women's team added.
Coach Mai Duc Chung's team will face Myanmar at 4:00 p.m. on December 11.
