Commending 80 outstanding teachers working in 248 communes, wards, and special zones in border areas

The 80 teachers honored are teachers working in 248 communes, wards, and special border zones; teachers working at remote schools and schools in remote areas; and teachers in green uniforms participating in illiteracy eradication work in the areas where their units are stationed.

On the afternoon of November 13th, the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Youth Union held a meeting and presented Certificates of Merit to 80 outstanding teachers participating in the "Sharing with Teachers 2025" program.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, said that after 10 years of implementation, the "Sharing with Teachers" program has honored 576 outstanding teachers from all over the country.

Following the reorganization of administrative units and the implementation of a two-tiered local government system (provincial and commune levels), this year's program will honor outstanding teachers who are directly teaching at all levels of the general education system in 248 communes, wards, and special zones with land borders, as well as Border Guard officers and soldiers working on literacy programs in their assigned areas.

During the meeting, teachers and young educators exchanged and shared the difficulties they face in teaching; the motivations that drive their dedication to the profession; and their wishes, aspirations, and proposals regarding policies for teachers in remote, disadvantaged areas, as well as support for facilities, teaching equipment, and investment in information technology for use in teaching and learning. The teachers also shared their experiences in professional work, teaching, and supporting students in their lives and studies.

After listening to the stories shared by the teachers honored this year, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and dedication of the teachers in the "Sharing with Teachers" program.

"The program is organized to honor teachers working in 248 communes, wards, and special zones in border areas; teachers working in remote schools, schools in isolated areas, border regions, and areas with difficult socio -economic conditions; and officers and soldiers of the Border Guard (teachers in military uniforms) participating in literacy programs and teaching for children, teenagers, and people in border areas and areas where they are stationed," Deputy Minister Le Quan said.

Deputy Minister Le Quan and Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam presented the Certificate of Commendation from the Minister of Education and Training to outstanding teachers.

According to the Deputy Minister of Education and Training, the program not only aligns with the duties and responsibilities of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation, but also holds great significance for cadres and teachers in all areas. "The task of education in remote areas and specialized schools still faces many challenges, shortages, and inadequacies, so it is more important than ever to have pioneering and leading educators taking on that responsibility," Deputy Minister Le Quan said.

Deputy Minister Le Quan stated that the Ministry of Education and Training is currently implementing the directives of General Secretary To Lam and the Government regarding the development of boarding school systems in border areas. Based on actual needs, the Ministry will gradually review and expand the school network to meet practical requirements. The Ministry is also urgently finalizing the guiding documents to ensure the progress and quality of implementation.

Along with investing in infrastructure, issues related to the teaching staff, operating budget, and boarding and day-boarding policies for students in disadvantaged areas are also being studied comprehensively. In the long term, the boarding school system in border areas will play an important role in implementing the new general education program, developing quality human resources, providing career guidance, discovering and nurturing talent, and creating a source of personnel for the locality.
