At the tournament announcement ceremony held on the morning of November 29 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Organizing Committee said that the biggest difference and also the factor that creates the drama for VBTL is the unique Team League format. The tournament gathers 8 teams in a round-robin format, but each match will be an all-out war.
Teams will compete in a variety of events, including men's singles and doubles, women's singles, men's U22 singles, mixed doubles, as well as a six-person team relay, held in a round-robin format.

Each match is played in a BO7 format, with each event being considered a mini-match and each player playing a maximum of two events, except for the seventh set. The scoring is clearly defined: A dominant win is worth 3 points, a loss is worth no points, and close wins are split between the two teams.
Head of the VBTL 2025 Organizing Committee - Ngo Van Duc shared: “VBTL is not just a tournament, it is a cultural platform. We believe that, through the team competition format and the connection between the stars and the community, we will create a fair, professional and fun playground, helping Vietnamese Billiards affirm its modern and more friendly position”.
The tournament prizes are attractive, with a total value of up to more than 300 million VND. The champion team will receive 120 million VND, the second and third placed teams will receive 60 and 30 million VND respectively.
According to the Deputy Organizing Committee of VBTL 2025 - Duong Buu Khanh, the tournament not only improves professional quality but also narrows the gap between professional athletes and the amateur community, creating natural and fun interactions, carrying the true spirit of "real players, real emotions" of Vietnamese Billiards.
"In order to promote gender equality and female participation in professional Billiards, each team is required to have at least 2 female players in the official squad. This ensures that VBTL is a fair playground, where female players' talents are recognized and maximized in a team environment," Khanh shared.
