On September 17, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta jointly announced the voting program "Attractive tourist destinations of Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in 2024" with the theme "Elevating destinations - Connecting journeys".

This is a key activity in the cooperation in tourism development directed by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committees of 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta. Specifically, the program selects and introduces 126 tourist destinations with outstanding tourism resources, products and services, capable of attracting and meeting the needs of sightseeing, relaxation, entertainment of tourists... in the localities for the Council of experts, readers and tourists to vote from now until November 2024. It is expected that 50 products selected by the program will be awarded certificates and included in the promotional handbook "Attractive tourist destinations of Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in 2024".
Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc Hieu, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that the voting program "Attractive tourist destinations of Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in 2024" aims to contribute to preserving and promoting traditional culture, unique identities and promoting local destinations. Thereby, creating a strong driving force, promoting the business community and service providers towards improving product quality, diversifying services, increasing tourism competitiveness of Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta. At the same time, the local tourism industry creates conditions for tourism - travel agencies to exploit destinations, promote promotion, communication of tourism products and services, connecting with businesses to build tours and tourist routes to serve tourists. Thereby, extending the length of stay and increasing spending of tourists when coming to Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
