Corps 12 receives the title of Hero of Labor

The 12th Army Corps was honored to receive the title of Hero of Labor.

General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense attended and spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Huu Ngoc, Commander of the 12th Corps, expressed his deep gratitude for the attention of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense and affirmed that the title of Hero of Labor is a great pride and at the same time a heavy responsibility for the collective of officers, soldiers and workers of the entire Corps.

Reviewing the glorious tradition of the Truong Son Troops, the legendary pioneering force in the resistance war against the US, Major General Nguyen Huu Ngoc emphasized that, continuing that spirit, after the country's reunification, the 12th Corps was assigned the important responsibility of building strategic bridges and roads, developing the socio-economy and carrying out many important national defense tasks.

Over the past 5 years, overcoming many difficulties in the basic construction industry, Corps 12 has made a strong breakthrough thanks to administrative innovation, organizational streamlining, investment in modern equipment, application of science and technology and digital transformation. The Corps has constructed nearly 700km of highways, contributing significantly to the goal of completing 3,000km of highways by the end of 2025; many projects are nearly a year ahead of schedule and saving the budget nearly 1,000 billion VND.

Not only leading in the field of highways, the Truong Son brand has also made its mark in a series of projects requiring high technology such as airport projects, seaports, large-span bridges, hydropower, irrigation, etc. In particular, the completion of the Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Expansion Project, one of the largest projects in Southeast Asia, has affirmed the outstanding capacity of the 12th Corps in the field of energy construction.

In parallel with production and business tasks, the 12th Corps is always a pioneer in emergency, rescue and relief missions. Two emergency reconstruction projects in Nu-Nam Tong Village (Lao Cai) and Phong Chau Bridge (Phu Tho) are "Truong Son miracles" in peacetime. In just 68 days, the Corps completed two new residential areas more than a month ahead of schedule; Phong Chau Bridge was inaugurated 3 months early, saving 300 billion VND, becoming a record in the current cantilever bridge construction industry.

Speaking at the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that the 12th Corps was established on the basis of the Truong Son Army's forces, and was assigned a new mission: Building the economy combined with national defense. Generations of officers and soldiers of the 12th Corps have promoted the tradition of "cutting through Truong Son to save the country", quickly approaching the market, actively investing in modern equipment innovation; absorbing and applying advanced science and technology, creating high-quality products, valuing reputation, proactively performing well the function of "production labor army", leaving a strong impression with thousands of key projects across the country and neighboring countries of Laos and Cambodia.

The Corps always successfully completes political education and military training programs and contents, strictly maintains discipline and order. On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang commended and congratulated the outstanding achievements of generations of officers, soldiers, employees and workers of Army Corps 12 - Truong Son Construction Corporation in recent years.

To successfully complete the tasks in the coming time, General Phan Van Giang requested the Corps to continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the resolutions of the Party, the Central Military Commission, and the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress of the Army. Carry out well the work of political and ideological education, promote traditions, and build a strong Corps. Perform well the function of the production labor army, maintain and organize production and business to achieve high efficiency, safety, and compliance with the law.

Along with that, building a strong and comprehensive "Model and Typical" Corps, proactively reviewing and rearranging the organization to be lean, compact, strong, and highly specialized. Building party organizations at all levels that are clean and strong in politics, ideology, organization, ethics...

The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense believe that in the coming time, with the honor and responsibility of the Labor Hero unit, Corps 12 will continue to strive, achieve many new feats and achievements, excellently complete its tasks, and be worthy of being the leading enterprise of the Army in the field of transport infrastructure and basic construction.
