According to an announcement from Spotify, Blackpink has reached a new milestone in their career.
Their song "Kill This Love" now has over 800 million streams, making the group the only female K-pop artist to have two songs surpass this milestone.
This means that Blackpink far surpasses the achievements of other prominent K-pop girl groups such as TWICE and Red Velvet.
Blackpink's other song "How You Like That" even surpassed 1 billion streams on the platform.
Blackpink has now "equaled" the record set by Fifth Harmony, as both groups now have two songs surpassing 800 million streams on Spotify.
For Blackpink, those songs are "How You Like That" and "Kill This Love".
Fifth Harmony achieved this with "Worth It" and "Work from Home." This broke Blackpink's previous tie with Lisa and Fifty Fifty for the same milestone.
Blackpink's album "BORN PINK" has risen in the rankings and is now the third most-streamed studio album by a girl group on Spotify, with 2.4 billion streams.
The album has surpassed Fifth Harmony's "7/27," which has 2.3 billion streams. The top spot for most-streamed studio album on Spotify is held by another Blackpink album, "The Album," with 3.33 billion streams.
