The press conference was held by the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) on May 18 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Mr. Mai Duy Quang, Vice President of VINASA spoke at the event.

Answering the question of VietNamNet reporter about the current application of Blockchain in practice in various fields and industries in Vietnam, when most of them are still experimental, Mr. Mai Duy Quang, Vice President of VINASA shared that Blockchain is not a "magic wand" that can affect everything.

According to Mr. Mai Duy Quang, Blockchain cannot replace other technologies, but is a part of applying technology to fields and industries and this is an important component.

For example, in the fieldof education , if we want to know whether a diploma is real or fake, if we apply Blockchain to the issuance of diplomas, we can confirm that it is real. Or in some internal activities of a business, if we apply this technology, we will know clearly which employee is performing that step.

Or in the field of digital signatures, Blockchain can also be applied and it contributes to limiting fraud when sending documents online, something that is popular today, especially in the form of email fraud.

Mr. Mai Duy Quang added that, depending on the industry and task, Blockchain can be applied to different stages and it ensures objectivity when there can be no third-party intervention.

Vietnam Blockchain Summit 2023 will be held on October 12-13, 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City. The conference will attract more than 2,500 delegates, including ministries, departments, state agencies, enterprises - investment funds, individuals and organizations domestically and internationally. It will bring together more than 80 prestigious speakers who are leaders of large Blockchain enterprises, managers and senior experts on Blockchain domestically and internationally.

The event is organized to accompany the Government, agencies, ministries, branches and enterprises in continuing to orient, develop, as well as promote the application of Blockchain technology in Vietnam, while creating a mark on the development of this technology in Vietnam, creating a destination for investors, Blockchain developers in the region and the world for many years to come.

The challenge for Blockchain is still the unclear legal basis. The lack of a clear legal basis is still one of the barriers to developing Blockchain technology in Vietnam.
