According to Decision No. 65/QD-VPCQCSDT dated October 13, 2025, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency is expanding the investigation into the behavior of subjects identified as being related to a financial fraud ring operating in many provinces and cities.
The investigation process showed that: Ranjit Thambyrajah (65 years old, Australian nationality) - Director of Berhero Company; Nguyen Viet Anh (43 years old, Vietnamese and Australian nationality), General Director of Nam Song Hau Petroleum Investment Trading Joint Stock Company and Representative Director of Acuity Funding Vietnam Company; and a number of individuals committed fraudulent acts to appropriate assets of many businesses and individuals.
According to initial investigation documents, the group of subjects committed to providing loans worth tens of millions of USD through the organization Acuity Funding (located in Australia). However, Acuity Funding was unable to make the loans, while businesses and individuals in need of loans still had to transfer large appraisal fees and service costs to the subjects.
On October 13 and October 20, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued a decision to prosecute and detain Ranjit Thambyrajah and Nguyen Viet Anh for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" under Article 174 of the 2015 Penal Code.
The Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency determined that many individuals and organizations at home and abroad had transferred service fees to get "loan approval" from the group of subjects, becoming victims but had not reported.
To serve the investigation and thorough handling of the case, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency requests individuals and organizations that suffered damages related to transactions with: Ranjit Thambyrajah, Acuity Funding or individuals related to the case; urgently contact the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency (Room 4, Office of the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency, address: Tam Hung Commune, Hanoi City) or Investigator Le Quang Hung, phone: 0936.87.88.88 for instructions on working and handling according to legal regulations.
This notice is intended to ensure that no victims are left behind, to serve the purpose of collecting information, consolidating evidence, clarifying the scale of damage, and handling the responsibilities of the subjects in accordance with the law.
