The training course had 100 trainees who were officers and soldiers from working teams of Border Guard Stations and forces that directly and regularly contact and work with ethnic minorities.

The training course contributes significantly to the comprehensive development of ethnic minorities in border areas. This is content No. 1, Sub-project 2 (Project 5) under the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period.

Colonel Le Cong Thanh, Deputy Political Commissar of Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command, delivered the opening speech.

During the period from December 1 to December 5, students were introduced to 7 topics, including comprehensive content on ethnic issues and ethnic affairs such as: Overview of ethnic minorities in Vietnam; the Party's viewpoints, policies and guidelines on ethnic issues and ethnic affairs; laws and policies of the State on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; culture of ethnic minorities in Vietnam; the political system at the grassroots level in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Vietnam today; ensuring national defense and security in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; some basic issues on the Army's participation in resolving complex situations in ethnic minority areas.

Speaking at the training course, Colonel Le Cong Thanh, Deputy Political Commissar of the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command, emphasized that the training topics are very important for the implementation and organization of ethnic work and ethnic policies of agencies and units in the stationed areas.

In order for the training course to successfully complete its tasks according to the plan, he requested the organizing committee to strictly manage and maintain the prescribed regimes and activities, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects; regularly closely monitor, inspect, direct and operate the course according to the set goals and requirements. Trainees actively study, research, grasp the content of the topics and relate it to the work process at the unit. Actively discover new issues, good and effective ways of doing things, and content that is still stuck and inadequate in practice to discuss, exchange and supplement to clarify the content, forms and measures to carry out mass mobilization work, ethnic work and ethnic policies in ethnic minority areas in border areas.
