According to records, on the afternoon of November 1, many kindergartens in Dai Loc commune were still covered in mud even though teachers had been actively cleaning for 2 days.
At Dai An 1 Kindergarten (Dai Loc commune), dozens of teachers, parents, soldiers, and militiamen were busy cleaning up with the hope of welcoming children back to school soon.
Here, many teaching equipments were damaged, covered with mud. The school nameplate was also washed away by the flood. Many sections still have stagnant water and thick mud.
According to Ms. Tuong Vy (teacher of Dai An Kindergarten), the floodwaters were at a historic high of nearly 2 meters. Fortunately, the school’s important equipment and students’ books had been moved to higher ground to avoid damage.

"This is the second day the teachers have been cleaning up. Everyone is exhausted, but thanks to the support of the militia, soldiers and parents, the progress has been significantly accelerated. Everyone is staying optimistic to complete the work together.
“We hope to finish cleaning soon so the children can go back to school. A long break for preschool children will affect the work of parents,” Ms. Vy said.
At Dai An 2 Kindergarten, dozens of soldiers and teachers are also busy cleaning up mud.
"Looking at the messy school yard, everyone feels heartbroken. But with just a few more days of effort, we believe the school will be filled with children's laughter again," said Ms. Phung Thi Kim Hang.
Although overcoming the consequences of the storm and flood is difficult and arduous, teachers and soldiers here still maintain an optimistic spirit and make every effort to soon bring students in the flood-affected areas back to school.
Mr. Phan Thanh Hung - the captain of the Dai Loc Commune's permanent militia, shared that in recent days, more than 100 mobile militia of the commune coordinated with soldiers of the Military School of Military Region 5 to go to schools in the area to overcome the consequences of the flood.
