On the morning of August 11, at the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital, the Ministry of Health held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Minister of Health to transfer and appoint Dr. Duong Duc Hung as Director of the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital. Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan attended, presented the Decision and delivered a speech assigning tasks to the new Director Duong Duc Hung.
According to Decision No. 3168/QD-BYT signed by Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan on August 10, Dr. Duong Duc Hung, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the Board of Management of Bach Mai Hospital, was temporarily appointed to the position of Director of Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital. This decision takes effect from the date of signing and promulgation.
Speaking at the assignment of tasks to the new Director of the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan shared that the transfer and appointment of comrade Duong Duc Hung received high support and consensus from the collective leadership of both hospitals.
According to the Minister of Health, the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital is a special medical facility with a long history. To continue promoting the hospital's precious and heroic tradition, together with teachers, experts, and the hospital staff, the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital will develop further and better, serving the health care needs of the people. The new Director of the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital, Duong Duc Hung, needs to focus on improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, continuing to innovate nursing work in patient care. Building a professional hospital discipline through the development of regulations, professional and technical processes, management... upholding the medical ethics of medical staff, caring for patients with a high sense of responsibility.
The Minister of Health also requested the new Director of the Hospital to continue investing in upgrading facilities and medical equipment to develop specialized medical facilities - meeting the increasing health care needs of the people. Promote scientific research, access and apply advanced scientific and technical achievements in diagnosing and treating patients.
Along with that, pay attention to training and professional guidance related to the surgical specialty. Focus on professional training and technology transfer to lower levels, contributing to improving the quality of lower-level healthcare, reducing the rate of referrals, helping patients enjoy high-quality healthcare right in their localities. At the same time, expand international cooperation, share expertise and experience with prestigious hospitals in countries with modern medicine in the world. Take advantage of the help and investment of resources from international organizations, gradually bringing Viet Duc Friendship Hospital to advanced levels in the region and internationally.
In addition, the Minister of Health also requested that the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital join with the Ministry's specialized units in developing legal documents for the sector. At the same time, continue to pay attention to the spiritual and material life of doctors and workers in the hospital. Pay attention to training human resources of the hospital as well as other medical facilities; Continue to coordinate well with other hospitals, agencies and sectors in performing assigned tasks and expertise.
Minister Dao Hong Lan hopes that the new Director of the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital will play a pivotal role, promoting the spirit of solidarity, intelligence and experience of teachers, experts and the hospital staff to build the hospital better and better.
At the ceremony, the new Director of Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital, Dr. Duong Duc Hung, expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Health, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health, and the staff of the hospital for their trust, appointment, and assignment of great tasks and responsibilities.

Dr. Duong Duc Hung, born in 1966, originally from Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province, is a Doctor of Medicine specializing in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. Before taking on the role of Director of Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital, Dr. Duong Duc Hung was Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Management of Bach Mai Hospital, Director of the Institute of Medical Examination, Head of the Cardiovascular Surgery Unit, Institute of Cardiology (Bach Mai Hospital). Professional qualifications: Doctor of Medicine, Senior Physician. Dr. Duong Duc Hung graduated from Hanoi Medical University (1983-1989). Graduated from Internal Medicine, Hanoi Medical University (1989-1992) and worked at Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital. Previously, Dr. Duong Duc Hung also worked for many years at the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital as a cardiovascular surgeon. |
