This is one of the activities in the 2024 Summer Volunteer Program organized by the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Home Affairs in coordination with the Tam Tai Viet Foundation, with the theme: "Follow me to school".
Attending the gift-giving ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry Nguyen Tien Dao; Chief Inspector of the Ministry Nguyen Manh Khuong; Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry Tran Duc Toan; Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Nghe An province Nguyen Viet Hung; representatives of Tam Tai Viet Fund and representatives of local Party committees, authorities, schools, Parents' Association and students receiving gifts from Anh Son district.
At the Program, Deputy Minister Vu Chien Thang and the delegation presented 100 bicycles to the Fatherland Front Committee of Anh Son district, including 50 bicycles given to 50 disadvantaged students who have excelled in their studies in Duc Son commune and 50 bicycles given to disadvantaged students in the communes of Tuong Son, Thach Son, Hung Son and Cam Son.
In addition, the delegation also presented a number of items for teaching and student care, including: 01 porridge pot for 01 kindergarten in the district worth 29 million VND; 05 desktop computers for 01 primary school in the district worth 40 million VND; 03 drum sets for 03 schools in the district worth 12 million VND; 01 industrial water filter for a middle school in the district worth 33 million VND.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Deputy Minister Vu Chien Thang hoped that through the “Following you to school” gift-giving program, the small gifts from agencies and sponsors would bring joy to poor students, encouraging them to continue to strive, overcome difficulties to achieve high achievements in studying and training. Through that, joining hands with local authorities to do a good job of social security, taking care of families in difficult circumstances.
