Strictly inspected, controlled and managed fishing vessels at river mouths without border control stations and key areas, promptly detected, prevented and handled fishing vessels violating IUU fishing. Closely coordinated with local authorities and relevant forces to strengthen propaganda, inspection and control work; resolutely not allowing fishing vessels to leave port if they did not ensure full procedures, documents and safety equipment according to regulations, strictly handled cases of IUU fishing violations.

At the Provincial Border Guard Command and units, the working group inspected the dissemination and implementation of the inter-sectoral coordination regulations and directive documents of the National Steering Committee and the Ministry of National Defense Steering Committee on combating IUU fishing, focusing on inspection and control at fishing ports, registration, monitoring and statistics of fishing vessels; control activities, entry and exit procedures of border control stations; coordination with localities to organize inspection and control at fishing ports, beaches, waterways, anchorage areas, river mouths; the task of sweeping and managing "3 no" fishing vessels, and handling violating fishing vessels.

Speaking at the inspection at units in the provincial Border Guard, Major General Pham Van Hoat, Deputy Director of the Department of Operations, Deputy Head of the Ministry of National Defense's Steering Committee on anti-IUU work, acknowledged the efforts of ministries, soldiers of the Ca Mau Provincial Border Guard and coordinating forces in the anti-IUU work in recent times, which have achieved many positive results.

The Ministry of National Defense's working delegation inspected the fishing vessel monitoring system of the Ganh Hao Border Control Station (Ganh Hao Border Guard Station).

Major General Pham Van Hoat requested that in the coming time, units need to concentrate forces and means to continue to resolutely and effectively implement the directions of the Government , the Ministry of National Defense, the Border Guard Command, and the People's Committee of Ca Mau province on the fight against IUU fishing. Maintain strict implementation of the inspection and control process using software to manage and control fishing vessels, strictly manage people and vehicles entering and leaving seaports, and resolutely not allow vehicles that do not ensure procedures and documents to operate at sea. Deploy patrols and control, maintain mobile control posts at seaports without border control stations. Step up propaganda and mobilization work for people, focusing on fishing vessel owners and captains to raise awareness to ensure that 100% of fishermen grasp and understand the basic provisions of the law on fighting against IUU fishing.
