Smoking was once considered a difficult habit to quit. The story of Uncle Ho shows that even for those who have been smoking for many years, quitting is still possible with determination and the right methods.

He once shared that smoking was a habit from his youth, so quitting wasn't easy. However, when his health began to suffer, following the advice of doctors, he proactively developed a scientific and persistent plan to quit smoking. He started by gradually reducing the number of cigarettes he smoked each day. When cravings arose, he would try to redirect his attention to work or other activities.

One particular method that Uncle Ho used was to smoke half a cigarette, then stop and put the rest away to control the frequency. Thanks to this, from smoking a whole pack of cigarettes every day, he reduced it to just a few and continued to reduce it gradually over time.

In March 1968, after catching a mild cold, Uncle Ho decided to quit smoking completely. Although cigarettes were still on his desk in the early days, he resolutely refused to use them. After a short time, the smoking habit was completely eliminated.

Beyond simply cultivating self-discipline, Uncle Ho also encouraged the younger generation to stay away from tobacco, emphasizing the role of willpower and responsibility for public health.

Lessons learned

This story is clear evidence of the power of willpower and perseverance. Giving up a bad habit, however difficult, is still possible with determination and the right method.

In both studies and work, everyone needs to cultivate perseverance, patience, and a spirit of overcoming difficulties. Despite obstacles, if we stay focused on our goals and make continuous efforts, we can absolutely achieve our desired results.

Communication message

Quitting smoking is not only about protecting your own health but also about contributing to a healthy living environment for your family and society. Start with small changes, persevere every day, and work towards a healthy, smoke-free life.
