Regarding the project of mineral exploration of granite mines in Hon Gio I mountain area, Nhon Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, Ninh Thuan province, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chien - Central Central Geological Federation, Vietnam Geological Department, the consulting unit said: The project was established on the basis of geological and mineral documents of the Mineral Resources Assessment Report of Hon Gio 1 and Hon Gio 2 mountain areas, Nhon Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, Ninh Thuan province (2020), the report on the results of "Exploration of paving stones in the Southeast of Hon Gio mountain, Nhon Hai commune, Ninh Hai district" (2009) and the current exploitation status.
The exploration method system includes: geodetic work, geological and mineral mapping, fracture measurement to determine the monolithicity of the original rock; drilling construction; taking and analyzing samples to study rock quality.
Explaining at the meeting, Mr. Phan Thanh Nghi - Deputy Head of the Central Central Geological Federation said that Hon Gio granite has been investigated and assessed for mineral potential, approved by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in Decision No. 2172/QD-BTNMT dated October 2, 2020. On the other hand, in the area currently licensed for exploitation in the West of Hon Gio 1 area, this exploration project minimizes risks regarding resources and reserves. The mine has a simple geological structure, medium scale, other parameters ensure to be classified as a simple mine (symbol I).
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Quy Kien and members of the Mineral Exploration Project Appraisal Council approved the mineral exploration project of the granite mine in Hon Gio I mountain area, Nhon Hai commune, Ninh Hai district, Ninh Thuan province, with estimated reserves of level 121+122 of more than 4.8 million m³; for calculating level 333 resources of more than 2.3 million m³, it is necessary to add exploration works to level 122 and the entire mine must be explored, calculating reserves to cote +35m.
Reporting on the project to explore titanium ore in Vinh Tu commune, Vinh Linh district, Quang Tri province, Mr. Pham Dinh Chien - North Central Geological Federation (Vietnam Geological Department), the consulting unit, said that the main exploration objective is to assess the quality and reserves of titanium ore; the quality of accompanying white sand reserves and mining conditions within the exploration area. At the same time, the estimated reserve target of level 121 + 122 is 70 thousand tons of ilmenite and zircon, of which level 121 accounts for 20-25%.
In addition, the technical methods, volume and types of work of the project are designed to be reasonable, economical, and suitable for the type of mineral and geological characteristics of the mine.
Deputy Minister Tran Quy Kien hopes that the project will achieve the set reserve target, creating a basis for exploitation design, providing raw materials for the titanium ore deep processing plant, developing the local economy and neighboring areas. The Deputy Minister and Council members also unanimously approved the above project.
Reporting on the project of limestone exploration for cement production in Loc Mon area, Lien Son commune and Cao Duong commune, Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province, Mr. Nguyen Huu Cong - Geological Mine Survey, Design and Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company, the consulting unit, said that the authors have conducted field surveys, collected geological documents, socio-economic documents of the exploration area and neighboring mines at present. The project has synthesized and used geological and mineral information related to neighboring mines to select a combination of methods and a network of exploration works, and a reasonable volume of exploration work items suitable for the exploration object.
The calculation results of the total estimated limestone reserves of level 121+122 are more than 186 million tons, of which level 121 reserves are more than 23 million tons, level 122 reserves are nearly 163 million tons. Deputy Minister Tran Quy Kien and the Council members unanimously approved this estimated reserve, and at the same time requested the investor (Binh Minh Construction and Tourism Group Joint Stock Company) and the consulting unit to conduct exploration from area to point, from general to specific, as well as review the volume and cost of trench sample analysis.
