Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Nationals of the State of Palestine

On the afternoon of November 26, in Hanoi, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung held talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Palestinian National Authority Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung warmly welcomed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Palestinian Overseas Citizens Varsen Aghabekian Shahin to Vietnam for the first time and affirmed that the visit is of special significance in strengthening solidarity and promoting the traditional friendship between the two countries.

On this occasion, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung respectfully thanked the Palestinian leaders for their letters of sympathy and support to the Vietnamese leaders and people for the recent losses caused by natural disasters in Vietnam.

Reporting on Vietnam's socio -economic development after 80 years of founding the country and nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process, Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralization, and respect for traditional friendly countries, including Palestine. Minister Le Hoai Trung said that Vietnam is promoting institutional reform, developing breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, considering these as pillars for current development.

Regarding the Palestine issue, Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized Vietnam's stance of supporting the two-state solution, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living peacefully alongside the State of Israel, on the basis of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions. Vietnam has consistently supported the just struggle of the Palestinian people for independence and national self-determination. The Minister said Vietnam is ready to participate in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

For his part, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Palestinian National Authority Varsen Aghabekian Shahin thanked Vietnam for its valuable material and spiritual support for the just struggle of the Palestinian people.

Minister Varsen Aghabekian Shahin emphasized that Vietnam and Palestine share the same aspiration for national independence and hopes that Vietnam will continue to support Palestine in the coming time, contributing to ending the conflict.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Palestinian people affirmed that the Palestinian leaders and people always pay special attention to Vietnam, a loyal and devoted friend of Palestine.

The Minister also expressed his admiration for Vietnam's outstanding achievements in socio-economic development, which have helped to enhance Vietnam's role and position in the international arena, saying that Palestine is eager to learn from Vietnam's experience in stabilizing the political situation, developing the economy and diversifying foreign relations. The Minister also thanked and appreciated Vietnam's willingness to participate in the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Palestinian National Authority Varsen Aghabekian Shahin discussed and agreed on specific measures to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Palestine, including increasing high-level delegation exchanges; improving the effectiveness of economic cooperation by creating favorable conditions for the business communities of the two countries to seek investment and business cooperation opportunities; expanding cooperation in education and training, and people-to-people exchange.

On this occasion, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Palestinian Nationals Varsen Aghabekian Shahin signed the Visa Exemption Agreement for diplomatic passport holders of each country.
