Speaking at the ceremony, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung sent his best wishes to the Government and people of Angola, and highly appreciated the great achievements that Angola has made over the past 50 years.
1975 was a historic milestone for both nations, when Vietnam completely unified the country and Angola declared independence. The two countries officially established diplomatic relations just one day later (November 12, 1975) as a testament to the connection and sharing of core values of independence, freedom and development.

Since then, bilateral relations have developed strongly in many fields from politics - diplomacy, economics, culture, education to people-to-people exchange.
Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized: “With a solid foundation of friendship over the past 50 years, Vietnam and Angola have every basis to bring bilateral relations to new heights - more substantial, effective and sustainable, and become a model for South-South cooperation.”
The Minister said that Angola has now become one of Vietnam's leading important partners in Africa.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Angola's Independence Day and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, in early August 2025, President Luong Cuong paid a State visit to Angola.
The visit was a great success with many important results, opening up many new cooperation opportunities in the fields of economics, trade, investment and people-to-people exchange...
These are also clear evidence of the solidarity, affection, and respect for the relationship between the Party, State and people of Vietnam, as well as the good and promising partnership between the two countries.
