At the meeting, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung said that senior Vietnamese leaders highly appreciated the official visit to Vietnam by King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan with strategic, substantive and specific exchanges, orienting the relationship between the two countries in the coming time.

Implementing the contents agreed upon by the leaders of the two countries during the visit, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung requested the two Foreign Ministries to promote their pioneering role in promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Jordan in all fields, promptly establish contact points, organize political consultations and appoint Honorary Consuls in each country. Minister Le Hoai Trung also requested the two Foreign Ministries to consult with relevant ministries and branches to propose dialogue and cooperation channels in the fields of national defense and security, agriculture, health care and healthcare, education and training, tourism and people-to-people exchange.

For his part, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Jordanian expatriate Ayman Al Safadi affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of Jordan and a gateway for Jordan to access the Southeast Asian market; agreed with the proposals of Minister Le Hoai Trung and affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jordanian expatriate will closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop a roadmap for implementing these measures. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Ayman Al Safadi also suggested that the two countries review all agreements that need to be signed in the coming time to create a legal corridor for bilateral relations and establish cooperation mechanisms to implement the commitments of the visit.

Discussing regional and international issues, the two Ministers stressed the importance of complying with international law and the United Nations Charter. Regarding the Middle East Peace Process, the two sides once again affirmed that the two-state solution is a prerequisite for achieving a lasting and sustainable peace solution to the Palestine issue.
