Minister Nguyen Van Hung visited and encouraged the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.

Reporting at the meeting, Head of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games Nguyen Hong Minh said that there are currently 28 teams with 552 members in Thailand; today the delegation continues to welcome 160 more athletes in key sports such as athletics, swimming, archery, etc.

“The athletes all tried very hard, and the delegation leadership promptly made recommendations to the organizing committee to resolve any difficulties that arose to create the best conditions for the entire team. The delegation is determined to fulfill its promise to the Prime Minister and Minister before departure,” said Mr. Minh.

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung kindly asked about accommodation, nutrition, and transportation and asked the delegation leaders to continue to closely accompany the host country's organizing committee to ensure the best training and competition conditions for the athletes.

The Minister spent most of his time listening to opinions from team leaders, and then directed the immediate handling of any problems that arose during their activities and competitions in Thailand.

Determined to keep my promise to the Prime Minister

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Van Hung conveyed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh 's regards and congratulations to the entire delegation. The Minister said that he was authorized by the Prime Minister to go to Thailand to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 33rd SEA Games and to closely monitor the competition situation of the teams.

“The meeting, though small, is of great significance. This is the concern of the Party and State leaders and is also a source of spiritual encouragement for each coach and athlete. I hope the whole team will maintain their spirit and do their best to bring joy and pride to fans across the country,” the Minister emphasized.

SEA Games 33 continues to be an important playground for Vietnamese sports, having hosted and consecutively held the top position in the last two SEA Games. The Minister affirmed that achievements can only come from thorough preparation, widespread movement development, focusing on strong sports and aiming for the pinnacle of Asian Games and Olympics.

“Sports are not only achievements but also a bridge to promote the country's image. The Vietnamese Sports Delegation must demonstrate the will, courage, and colors of the Fatherland. Let's fight with the greatest determination," the Minister said.
